Current mood:  betrayed

Hello friends of the Jesus!

 ....

We are sad to say that we have been the victims of robbery of late!  Some one nicked off with all our amps, stands, circuit bent keyboards, mixer and all of Tim’s tools! The giant “Hers” base amp is no more!

 ....

In less than 20mins some unmentionable in a RED TRANSIT (keep ur eyes peeled) drove up to the back of Tim’s truck and robbed the lot! If you go around to many local / London gigs and happen to see my Laney “Hers” base amp, immediately punch the person who claims ownership and then either steal it back for me or do neither of these things and call the cops (but get their details in case we have to initiate some vigilantly justice the Jesus style)

 ....

 ....

In other news, we are shooting a new music video for one of singles coming out early next year and the album is also due for release around March. We also have a gig this Thursday at the Good Ship in Kilburn so come down to that and have a Christmas drink with us and the usual suspects.

 ....

 ....

Wrap up warm and remember look busy, Jesus is coming!

 ....

See you on Thursday

Manchester - Dry Bar....

 ....

 ....

I had to combine a little business with pleasure in Manchester so whilst I checked in with a client, the boys went shopping at Trafford centre. They went to buy a jacket and new shoes and returned with a pocket full of tokens they didn’t get round to spending in the arcade! They also claim that 2 girls were checking them out. I believe this is probably true as in “what the fuck are these two old farts doing in an arcade? And then probably something along the lines of “perverts” ....

 ....

The interesting thing about being in close quarters with these two is ....

1 – they both snore (one of them VERY loudly)....

2 – they both do not like the fact I tear them a new one in shit head EVERYNIGHT! (local card game)....

3- they both fully believe in the Linx effect and whilst tim thinks “Africa” will have the ladies swooning, jonnie goes for “rare leather” both of which I can assure you leads to no swooning. ....

 ....

 ....

So Manchester then, we played Dry Bar and the sound guy, his assistant and his dad were wicked. I particularly liked the assistant. He was an emo looking type, very sweet, young, thin but quite smiley.  The most endearing thing was the way he told the sound guy  “your dads a lying a prick and I’m going to stab him in the face” to which the sound guy replied “that will make a change from cutting yourself” (all in jest of course)....

 ....

We sound checked and then went for Japanese and watched a brilliant glam rock band from Japan play to a massive fucking stadium. One of the guys in the band was called Rusty Nail (never seen a ginger Japanese glam rocker before) and the restaurant even served sushi on a massive wooden boat! It was delicious! ....

         ....

I digress………where the fuck was I………oh yes, so it was a small but appreciative crowd and I even met a feller from bear my neck of the woods (Mildura in oz!) We even managed to shift some merch so it was quite cool.....

 ....

HIGHLIGHTS....

Japanese restaurant………..Sushi………….on a boat! I’m not kidding....

The MINGING jacket that Johnny bought!!!!

 ....

 ....

Liverpool ....

 ....

Wednesday night saw the Jesus trio head to Korova Bar in Liverpool. A catchment area for students, the Korova features the upstairs industrial dinner / downstairs “I want to play a game” Saw dungeon kind of vibe. Upon arrival we looked to see if there was any evidence of us playing the venue on that particular night and after finding the only WWJD poster in the vicinity, I was shocked and dismayed to find that someone had given me a Hitler tash! I have my suspicions of who did this and I will not point fingers (maybe a banana. THAT’S RIGHT!!!!) ....

We sound checked and headed out to grab our keys from the Travelodge and initiate our 3 people in a two-person room plan (ask me for details at any gig) ....

It was Tim’s turn to pick where we would eat dinner and he decided on a quant little Indian restaurant “a passage to India”. I now understand why the Scousers call southerners soft and it is all to do with the strength of heat provided by ones local curry house. Whilst I can enjoy a Madrass back home in Chatham, it actually burnt a hole in my face in Liverpool. Johnnie was kind enough to taste the devils Madrass and will confirm my claims of fiery hell in a tomato-based sauce. To counter the inferno I had to drink quite a few glasses of red wine, this lead to a few on stage mishaps but I like to refer to this as adding “flavour” to a gig.....

 ....

We played to a small but appreciative crowd and although I referred to the onstage sound as “singing in a piss trough” we had a good time and seemed to go down ok. ....

 ....

We met a lovely and very good band Lost City Radio who have promised to come to our neck of the woods to play a show or two with us and I got to catch up with an old mate Kaylee who kindly brought along a crowd for us to play to (thank god someone was promoting the gig)....

 ....

 ....

Highlights....

 ....

Knocking over my mike stand through Casey clumsiness, seeing Kaylee and Jonnie forging Jesus's autograph in the hotel room bible! ....

In order to do this right I must start with the first gig after the single launch, Bath Moles.....

 ....

Reduced to a 3 piece as gembals had chronic migraine, we jumped in the jesus wagon and headed for bath. This was also the day Tim and I were battling some version of swine flu / black plague and Johnny was bracing himself to take over on vocals.....

 ....

As it was a Saturday, we were playing the club night which was quite late so after sound check, we ate at the obligatory vegie/vegan/hippie restaurant and then I decided to curl up in the back of the van to catch some zzz's. Whilst the plan was good in theory, I didn't realise it would get so cold and had to improvise a blanket out of a massive sheet of bubble wrap that at one point, probably safely delivered someone's bathtub to Tim.....

 ....

It was warm however my bubble wrap duvae proved quite noisy whenever I moved.....

 ....

The crowd seemed to enjoy the set especially one guy who came and stood about a foot away from Tim for Love Is and shook Tim’s hand mid tourette sweary ending and then ran away.....

 ....

We sold quite a few “I Don’t Give A Fuck About Your Band” t shirts at Bath moles and the strange consumer pattern that seems to be emerging is bar staff, sound guys and promoters that work in music venues. I’m not sure if this is scary or ironic.....

 ....

Highlight from Bath Moles....

That guy behind the bar doing a wicked review (please see pics and also front page of site as I have scanned it in) If that guy happens to read this, you are a really good writer and should defiantly keep perusing music journalism.....

Current mood:  drunk

Thank you so much to everyone that faced the torrential rain to come to our single launch on Tuesday.

Being a WWJD gig, it was of course not without drama!!!!!

The what would jesus would drive (you had to be there!) was going great guns till Awful Kids.........when for the fourth time in less than 6 months, we blew stuff up!!!

It could have been several things, Tim's super sweary tourrettes, Gemma's furious mixing or even my stampy lefty foot action BUT all indications point to John dedicating Black n Blue to the memory of Patrick Swayze.

COINCIDENCE? I think not!

After I accidentally killed michael Jackson and his soul is now trapped in the decks, we firmly believe that this may have happened again with another celeb. (I digress, sorry I'm a bit fluey and the meds and red wine not a great mix ....but nice!)

Not to be beaten by this adversity, the friends of dizzle society provided the rhythm by clapping Fragile Mansions and Johnie quickly loaded up the drum machine on his iphone and we did an acoustic version that was great fun.

It was one of my favorite gigs ever and we had such a good time.  thank you again to everyone who made it and I look forward to seeing you at our next gig. We haven't had to deal with a life-threatening scenario on stage yet but with this band, you never know!!!!

Have a great Weekend and check our dates for next week

xxxxx Amy

Current mood:Dunno
There's good news and there's bad news.

The good news is that we are about to head off on a 3 date mini-tour of Ireland! The bad news is that we will be without Gemma for these dates cos she's got fleas. Not really. The truth is that unfortunately she has driveways that need tarmacking that weekend so we will be one band member short (as oppose to when she is with us in which case we have one short band member).

Fear not however, for Gemma will be back for our triumphant return to Medway on Bank Holiday Monday when we play our beloved Command House. We are on stage at 6 p.m. Let's hope for good weather.

After that we have a day off and then wednesday sees us back to London for the final leg of our New York reunion dates with Junkstar, The Grunts and The Legendary Too Tall at Madame Jojo's in Soho.

It's all very hectic and this is before we head off on tour. Amy is in training like she is about to run a marathon. Those who know us will be unsurprised to hear that John isn't. I'm somehere in between...taking the dog for a walk, but having a beer afterwards.
More good news: Tom Robinson has been playing Girls Are In Charge on his 6Music show, as has Jon Kennedy on XFM.
More bad news: The album release has been put back to February! Boo! No idea why. I suppose sometimes the world is just a cunt. Put that on a t-shirt.

That's it from me.
I love you all. Except the fuckers that I hate. You know who you are.

Take it!

Tim xxxx

p.s (to Amy) haha!! we won the ashes, haha!!

My turn to blog and I have decided to keep track of some random activities from this week.

1 - The discovery that John and Tim are both of a delicate constitution. (i.e. Johns bull riding injury in LA and Tim's injury from "sleeping on the air bed) meaning that Gemma and I would surely win in some kind of rumble as the boys bruise like peaches.

2 - I saved a whole shop full of people this week by alerting staff to the fact that one of their boots was on fire

3 -If you eat many chillies your mouth (and other parts) will surely burn

4 - Does the drummer maketh the band? I believe this to be incorrect.

5- the dates to remember

'The Girls Are In Charge' single - August 31st

'Black and Blue' album - September 14th.

The official album launch party is Upstairs at the Garage in Islington on 16th September. Be there for that one. A few special guests and surprises are promised. More info to follow as we have it.

We'll be touring round the uk throughout September so keep checking the page for details of shows in your area.

6 - Yes, I copied and pasted 5 from Tim's previous blog

7 - I wrote a song called 'Big tit light' this weekend. Sometimes light bulbs look very much like knockers.

Thats all I got right now. Have a great night and I put up the leccy for ya to wrap ya lug nuts around (aussie for ears)

Current mood:Informative
So we're back!!!

We've actually been back for quite some time, but been recovering and getting ready for touring and album/single plugging duties.

Thanks to all those that made the trek to Brighton for the show the other day. How fucking windy was it there?!! Nearly lost my hat in the sea. Not to mention getting blisters on my heels from walking so far to the van and back. Parking in Brighton - not good. Good show though, even though the drum machine sounded like a series of carefully timed explosions for most of the evening.

You may have noticed the video for The Girls Are In Charge is up. It's frickin' awesome and we want to say a massive thank you to Rianne Rowlands and James Briggs for doing such an amazing job. So much time and effort went into this and we are so grateful. Anyone who need animation or filming and editing employ these people!! They are brilliant!

Directed by Rianne Rowlands & James Briggs
Animations by Rianne Rowlands
Filming & Editing by Heightened Reality Pictures Ltd.

We have a show tomorrow (Monday 20th) at the Hope and Anchor in Islington. We are on stage at 8.30 so get there early. It marks the first of many shows we will be doing to promote the forthcoming debut album 'Black and Blue'. It's gonna be an exciting and busy couple of months for us and we hope you'll all come down and support the Dizzle as we take the next big steps.
Release dates as follows:
'The Girls Are In Charge' single - August 31st
'Black and Blue' album - September 14th.
The official album launch party is gonna be Upstairs at the Garage in Islington on 16th September. Be there for that one. A few special guests and surprises are promised. More info to follow as we have it.

We'll be touring round the uk throughout September so keep checking the page for details of shows in your area.

Loads more to tell you and lots of stupid stories from the US but I'll save that for later.

Cheeeaaars!!

Tim xx
