Greetings Wiser Timers! September is drawing to a close, and we hope that you've all been doing well and getting ready for the fall. The season is typically Carmen and the band's most creative period and we're excited for the changes, and we want to keep you up-to-date with what's been happening with the new record and the band.

- As we told you last, the band and a group of rowdy friends entered E Studios in Brooklyn, NY, on 4.20 to lay down tracks for the coming record, "Beggars And Thieves." We've been taking our time, and the album is coming along great and is almost finished. We won't be releasing the album until 1.1.2010 however, you'll be able to hear a sample track "Love And Devotion," at www.myspace.com/wisertime ........listen for it SOON!

Pre-orders will be available in December.

- While the band hasn't been performing out much while we work on the album, Carmen will be performing a charity event on 10.16 @ 6:00PM in Old Bridge, New Jersey, USA in support of "Banding Together: A Benefit for the Sponsylitis Association of America" for Blow Up Radio. Lazlo and Blow Up Radio have been such strong supporters of the indie music scene for many years now, and we want to give our support back to them, so please visit www.blowupradio.com for details on how you can make a difference.

- Carmen will also be making a solo performance at Fontana's in NYC for our friends at Music Gorilla. He'll being playing an intimate set beginning at 8:00pm. Check him out

- While we're on the subject of giving: remember to download your copy of "What You Give - Unplugged" from your favorite online music store. ALL proceeds are being donated to a non-profit organization that Carmen works with called Musicians On Call. It's a small amount to give that makes a big difference in the lives of many sick adults and children. Learn more about them at www.musiciansoncall.org

WISER TIME - May Newsletter

Beggars & Thieves:

The new Wiser Time album, Beggars & Thieves, is well underway! The band

and a group of friends were at E Studios in Brooklyn, NY for three days

from 4.20-4.22, and everyone is excited about the new tracks. The

recording is mostly finished and the band is waiting to mix. We should

have the finished album just in time for summer!

The band has been taking a little time off from playing to focus on the

album and getting ready for its release, but keep checking the website for

some select shows and solo appearances.

REVOLUTION!:

Gaspari Nutrition has decided to license Wiser Time's "Revolution" for a

series of Internet commercials to promote their "Revolution Tour,"

promoting training and fitness lifestyle across the United States. The

commercials are in the process of being produced, and Wiser is proud to

have one of our songs selected to represent them. Look for Team Gaspari

Musicians On Call:

Carmen has been volunteering part of his time to a charitable cause in NYC

and Nashville called Musicians On Call. Musicians On Call, formed in

1999, brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in

healthcare facilities, and uses music to promote and complement the

healing process for patients, families and caregivers.

In addition to his time, Carmen will be donating all of the digital

download revenue from the Wiser Time song, "What You Give - Unplugged" to

the NY-based nonprofit organization. It's a great way to do something

positive for people in need, as well as adding something new to your Ipod.

American Rock N Roller “Gives” To Promote NY Charity

March 15, 2009 , Basking Ridge, NJ -   Carmen Sclafani of the American rock n’ roll band Wiser Time has partnered with Musicians On Call, and will be donating all of this years revenue from his song “What You Give – Unplugged” to the NY-based nonprofit organization.  ....

Musicians On Call, formed in 1999, brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, and uses music to promote and complement the healing process for patients, families and caregivers.....

“I don’t really have a lot of money but I wanted to do more than just donate my time, and that’s when I came up with the idea and approached them,” says Sclafani.  “It’s the simple act of giving that’s important more so than how much a person gives, and if my song generates a little more money and exposure for them then I think I’ve done a good thing.”....

Sclafani plans on choosing a different charity or non-profit to partner with every year to promote and donate to.  In addition to donating the revenue that his song generates, Sclafani will also promote the program when he performs solo or with Wiser Time.  “What You Give – Unplugged” can be purchased in most digital music stores including iTunes, eMusic and Rhapsody, and is only available online via download.  Donations can also be made directly to Musicians On Call via their website.....
