What makes people so fickle?
The various relationships that we form in life are never solid. They are just fluid - moving, changing, adapting. The people with whom you've formed a tight bond might be gone tomorrow. Your best friend becomes your mortal enemy. The most annoying person you know becomes your lover. Anything can happen at any time.
It's impossible to predict, so why bother?

Current mood: drunk
Last night was the joint Ubisoft/Longtail Studios Christmas party and this time, it was far better than last year's.
I fully expected something similar with the female DJ that wouldn't shut the fuck up and spin, telling us to "take coke and drive home because we don't care!" and "everybody wants to have my baby because I'm so sexy". How about the classic "America is burning! New York City is burning! Montreal is burning! Quebec is burning!" Even better "right now, some 7 year old is in his basement practicing on a guitar - think about that!"
No, this time Ubi rented out this club called Vogue - a place I remembered seeing before when JF, Andre and I got wasted and decided to walk up to Grande Allee. We must have stumbled past it.
Anyways, pretty much everything was free. Port team, as usual, was out in full force. We're pretty consistently the biggest party people of the studio, but what can you expect when you spend your day trying to work around horribly flawed phones?
Not sure why, but people seem especially happy when they see me shittossed and keep bringing me drinks and shots and all that. Not one to disappoint, I downed them all. In total, 13 rum and cokes, 5 shots of JD and 2 or 3 shots of vodka. Might not be much for you guys, but for someone that doesn't really drink much, it's quite a bit. People kept giving me these minipizzas and telling me they wanted to see how many I could put in my mouth. I impressed a few people, me thinks.
After a while, I just put my headphones on and started singing along to my own music. Just me in my own little world. I'm sure almost everyone from Ubi thought I was a retard, but to those that know me, it's par for the course.
My boss got on stage with the Ubi studio head and they wished us all a merry Christmas. Even though we're outnumbered about 4 or 5 to 1 by the Ubisoft people, we were at least 4 or 5 times louder when we cheered for our boss, something she takes a lot of pride in.
And so... the end.

If you don't understand something of a technical nature, say how to set up a firewall on your computer or something of that nature, I can understand that.
If you ask for help with something of a technical nature, I can understand that.
If you don't know what "flashing" and "firmware" mean and you go ahead and try to flash your firmware for... say, your router or PSP in an attempt to add unofficial features without doing any sort of research into what you are supposed to really be doing and it doesn't work... well, you got what you deserved.
Moron A owns router model B. Moron A finds out about 3rd party firmware for routers. Firmware page clearly says "firmware supports routers from Company X, Y and Z, router models T, R and D". Moron A flashes router model B with firmware for model T, ignoring huge neon warning signs. Moron A cries.
Moron B finds out about font hack for PSP, allowing you to change the font being used by the firmware UI. Moron B finds out that TrueType fonts need to be run through an automated font conversion program before they can be used. Moron B for some reason believes WinRAR can do it. Moron B flashes resulting RAR file to firmware. Moron B cries.
Moral of the story: do not play with 3rd party hacks that have permanent consquences without first finding out EVERYTHING about it. If you still don't understand, ASK SOMEONE WHO DOES. Most of all, DO NOT START A SCREAMING MATCH WITH THE CREATORS OF SAID 3RD PARTY HACKS BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN IGNORANCE.
Thank you.

Opportunities are starting to pop up. Doors are starting to open. The possibilities seem endless.
I'm working on making a name for myself in our company. A name that does not consist of the following:
"The fat guy" "The Other Jason" "The other English dude that's not Neill"
