ZOY will be playing next wednesday at The Beauty Bar in support of Watch out For Rockets. This is their CD release show for "Beasts with Hearts of Gold".
If you haven't heard these guys just give the tune "Lift Off Cloud Controller" a spin on their page. Action Speaks Volumes.
We couldn't be more excited about playing with them. Hope to see you there.

Merlin Mann, a man (no pun intended) of thoroughly cultivated sensibilities put up our video on his blog recently. Check it here:

We got contacted by these guys, sent them some music and the rest is blistery history. Check out this award winning (obviously) show and prepare to wiggle and giggle at the very least. They've played two (1,2-count em') ZOY tunes lately- "She Comes From Good Stock" and "I'll do the Thinking".
Tune in- I'll be there right along with you!

The shows are compiled on their profile or better yet-
Here's the Link:

Hope all is well with everyone- more news/shows coming soon!

Hello all, I just wanted to let you know that the video for "The Rejects" is up and running. Chad Treanor shot it here in Austin with us and it looks stellar. I can't thank him enough. He's an up and coming film man (director, purveyor, connoseur) and a badass BMX bandit. Mark Jackson (idea man, filmmaker, graphic designer and general badass) helped with the concept and props. The band provided the sex.

you can view it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xqbbLGoheY

watch it in high def if you can- youtube gives you an HQ button to push once it starts playing. Hope you have a wonderful week and maybe we'll see you out there!

Zest just had the pleasure of playing Hailey's Club this past Saturday with Bridges and Blinking Lights and Plants and Animals.
What a show!
Both of those bands were stellar. It's always great to play a gig with other bands that really bring it to the stage. If there were a gas leak in the vicinity we'd all be dead cause it was white hot!
I also discovered a new beer that night that tickled my fancy. It's from Colorado and it's called "Old Chub". If you happen to see it in the store or on tap I would highly recommend it. It's dark and sweet but malty and slightly spicy- check it out.

Here in the near future (this weekend) we'll be playing the infant conferrette that is Nx35! The venue and lineup of our particular showcase is a zinger. Denton legends The Silver Arrows are the headliner (with good reason). If you haven't heard them, check them out as soon as possible-- great songs, weird varied arrangements as well as styles, superhuman energy, wit and charisma- need I say more?
Tame, Tame and Quiet and Ella Minnow will grace the stage as well.
There are a myriad of other events leading up to this to. Harvey Pekar (music critic, artist, icon) will be giving a speech on the importance of jazz and pushing it forward-- not just letting it turn into a tradition but making it evolve (or something like that- go check out his speech if you really want to know). This is just one example of the impending festivities.

Lastly, ZOY will soon be releasing our new music video "The Rejects". It turned out to be a magical one thanks to Chad Treanor (director, cinematographer), Mark Jackson (concept, script, stagehand and geniosity) and us of course. It was shot in high defenition on a steady cam too so it just looks gorgeous (despite the subject material). Look for it to hit in the next two weeks (youtube, myspace, and our website). It will sweep the nation soonafter. So in sumation, let's roll people and control what we can and enjoy it while it lasts. We love you all.

ZOY has recieved a new review from The Fire Note blog. You can find it here under their "fire drills" annex. Check it out!
http://thefirenotefiredrills.blogspot.com/2009/02/zest-of-yore-quality-of-life.html
I believe that blog is out of Dayton Ohio as well.
Secondly, we'll be playing some super exciting shows here pretty soon. On March 7th you can catch us in Denton at Hailey's w/ Plants and Animals and local faves Bridges and Blinking Lights. This show will be killer.
The next weekend we'll be part of Denton's own Music Conferette "Nx35".
We'll be playing Saturday night (March 14th) at Dan's Silverleaf with Silver Arrows, Tame Tame and Quiet, and Ella Minnow. Again, not to be missed.
This weekend we're shooting a music video for "The Rejects". So look for that in the coming months as well. In the meantime, keep it clean and keep it real.
