This recipe was suggested to me by a friend, but I didn't have a real recipe. Here is my version of bbq tofu, that ended up being a huge success at the pot-luck I took it to. The whole process took me about an hour and a half.

You'll need:
2 - 14oz Extra Frim Tofu bricks
1 - 14oz Firm Tofu brick
1 cup peanut butter
2oz pomegranate juice
2oz vegetable oil
dried chopped onions (optional)
1 - 18oz bottle of your favorite bbq sauce (might need more than one bottle if you are a bbq sauce lover)
cookie sheet & 11 x 9 pan

Mix together 1 cup of peanut butter, about 2 oz of vegetable oil and 2 oz of pomegranate juice. I lightly sprinkled dried chopped onions and mixed those in as well.

I used three 14oz bricks of tofu. Two of them were extra firm, and one was just firm. The two extra firm bricks I cut lengthwise into 12ths. The firm tofu I cut into 24 shorter pieces. I spread my peanut butter mixture on all sides of the tofu. I attempted to make a pattern on a cookie sheet that looked like ribs. (This isn't necessary at this point, since you'll be flipping the tofu over and transferring it to another container.)
I preheated the oven to 325°F and placed the cookie sheet in for 15 minutes on one side, then I flipped the tofu over and let it bake for another 15 minutes.

Next I lined an 11 x 9 lasagna pan with bbq sauce. Be sure it's rather thick.

After the tofu is done baking, I placed it into the pan. At this point, it's fun to place the strips of tofu into the pan so they look like ribs.

My little cookie sheet wasn't going to work for all the tofu I needed to bake, so I upgraded to a larger cookie sheet. Again repeating the steps above.

After all the tofu is baked I began filling the pan with it. Each layer of tofu you place down, cover it with a layer of bbq sauce. I used an entire 18oz bottle of bbq sauce and I had another bottle handy to sort of fill in spots. One bottle is probably enough though. Once you are satisfied with the amount of bbq sauce, place the pan in the oven for 15 minutes. Still keeping the temp at 325°F.
And that's it, your BBQ "Ribs" are ready to serve.
I really enjoyed the results. I hope you get to try my bbq recipe, I think it's worth the effort.

This time lapse shows the creation of a page from ZombieNinjas.com. 25 hours of work has been compressed into 2 minutes. Pencils were drawn on 11x17 comic book art board. The drawings were scanned and painted digitally.

Here's the first page of my online graphic novel Zombie Ninjas. I drew this first page in photoshop with my wacom tablet. I also used a photo I took one day of a big bug that decided the peep-hole of my front door was a good place for a bug to rest. It seemed like a very strange dream-like element that I thought would be well suited for this particular page of Zombie Ninjas. With each page that I create, I'll be drawing in a different style, using different mediums, or anything new that I want to experiement with. I'll be posting my pages here on my blog. I really want to know what people think of my work, so all sorts of comments would be appreciated (the good and the bad!) Below is a reduced size version of the page. You can click on it or go to ZombieNinjas.com to see the full size.
