Hello,

Long time no speak.
I have been so busy recently, working my way round all of europe for festival season. I'm glad it's over if i'm honest as the novelty of Portaloos wears off very fast.

All the summer gigs have been great and me and the band have had so much fun. We all got a little emotional at the last gig in Bochum, Germany.
It's been 3 years since the guys and i started playing these songs and that gig will have been the last time we ever played that set.

It has been one hell of a journey with some ups and downs, luckily the ups outweigh the downs by a huge way. It feels a little strange to be finally saying goodbye to the first album.

It probably would have happened alot earlier if it wasn't for the amazing support i've had from all across Europe. I feel i have a million second homes now in Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland etc.. Everyone has been so amazing and i can say with great delight that it has been an absolute pleasure.

We are now well on the way to selling 3 million albums. It's quite unbelievable. I am just so thankful to all the people who worked so hard and all of the amazing public that went out and bought the record. Without your support we would be nowhere.

As well as touring across Europe, i've also been very busy in the recording studio over the summer. We have a selection of songs recorded and i have to say i'm really excitied. I can't wait for all you guys to hear them and i promise it won't be a long time. We're hoping to release the album early next year so it's only really a few months.
Pete has done an amazing job with the production, some of the sounds are just amazing and they are exactly how i imagined my little acoustic ditties when i handed them all over. We've also managed to persuade one of my favourite artists to whack some stuff down on them but you'll have to wait and see ;-)

So it was only really last week that we officially finished with 'This is the Life' and as soon as i got home i jet off straight away to Las Vegas with my two best friends for a little break. It was great fun and we were like sad old women sitting on slot machines at 3am losing all our money. We were a bit naive with them thinking everytime they made a noise we had won money. We had crowds gathering round only to find we'd won $3.
We spent the Wednesday Morning watching Scotland v Holland. I have to say i quite enjoyed watching football at that time. 11am kick offs are great. It's just a shame that we didn't get a result as we had so many chances. It's just the nature of the beast that comes with Being a Scotland fan. Amazing highs and Devastating lows.

So now i'm having a little break. I want to try and write some more songs but i'm not a particularly prolific writer. It can take me months to come up with one song so i'll see how it goes.

I also have to add my opinion on music piracy. Lily Allen has spoken out at those that are for illegal downloading and i say good on her! I hate file sharing. I think it's ruining the whole music industry. It takes one person to download and think to themselves 'oh it won't harm anyone' but when there are a million people sharing this same thought then it does harm the whole industry. Record sales continue to slip year on year and this is directly affected by illegal downloading. The Music industry is a big part of the Uk economy and as you can see our economy is already in a mess so if people continue to download it will just get worse.

I really do hate to be a preacher as i prefer to make my own mind up about things and don't like being told what to do but the more people continue to download the less new music will be available.

People use the argument that they get to hear alot more music if they download but the longer this goes on that will definitely not be the case. The industry is struggling. Album sales are down, ticket sales are down and without this industry people like me wouldn't be able to release music. I don't have the means to release my songs without the help of my label.

I completely agree with Matt Bellamy's comments in that people who use the internet for downloading should pay more for their connection and that we should be taxed to use the internet. I think this is probably the way forward.

I'm glad that there are artists like Matt and Lily who speak up for musicians and i for one offer my support.

On that note i'm off to get the new Muse album from ITUNES!

Good evening,
I'm sat watching the Champions league semi final, it's just started. Can't believe it's only half seven, i've been up since 5am so it's been a very long day.

I am so happy right now because we have a new addition to our little family. A little puppy called Arnie ;-) He's a miniature schnauzer, just like wee Jackson was. Its so nice as he as alot of similar traits too.
I absolutely adore him. We've nicknamed him chubbs as he absolutely loves his food ;-)

My mum, dad and sister got one too. They have Arnie's little brother. They are so cute together and just run about like nutters. Our other dog, harry, is still a wee bit wary of them but he's been amazing. Been giving him lots of love so he doesn't feel neglected.

I'm already so attached to him, don't like leaving him in a room when i'm not there. He's sleeping beside me on the couch right now.

So there's been a lot going on this week.
I'm slowly but surely getting there with some songs. I've got a nice wee selection, but i do prefer to take my time. I've turned into a bit of a perfectionist with songs and want to spend as much time as possible on something, it used to take me ten minutes, now it takes days or weeks. I don't see the point in rushing something, i hope you guys feel the same.

I'm so happy that Falkirk made it to the final of the Scottish cup. I've loved following the team this year. I think they have a great set of players and fans, and it makes you appreciate the football much more when you're following a smaller club.
I've got my fingers crossed that Stevie will be back for the final. He's had so many problems with his knee, it's such a shame as he's just dying to play.

On sunday i was the 'entertainment' at the PFA Scotland awards. It was an honour for me to be invited to such a high profile event. I've been to a few events like this and i think sunday's one was the best. Sometimes people plan them really badly and you're bored after 5 minutes but the PFA's were totally different, i laughed lots, particularly at Gordon Strachans acceptance speech. He was hilarious.

The Previous night i had been at Jade's 18th party. Jade is my friend Leigann's little sister. It was hilarious. They have a massive marquee which goes up in the back garden and Leighann's dad Gerry made a buffet. I had an amazing time.

I'm just looking out the window right now! It is absolutely pouring it down the now!!! There's something quite nice about being all cosy inside when it's horrible outside.

I watched the Ricky Hatton fight early Sunday morning and was gutted for him. I think he's great. I thought it was amazing that 25000 Brits went over to Vegas to see him. I don't want him to quit as i get so excited watching his fights.

Anyway this has been a very random and disjointed blog. I'm away to play with my gorgeous dogs ;-)

Hello!!

I know easters been and gone but it's still holidays for me.
My friends Leighann and Laura have been off all week, so we have been doing lots of random stuff!

I'm currently chilling in my pj's watching Jonathan Ross.
I really was born to do nothing, i love being at home.

I have written a few songs, don't worry. One of which made a few people cry it's quite sad. Other than that i've been living the life of riley.

Everyone kept saying to me, 'oh just you wait, as soon as your off you'll be bored' hahahaha i'll never get bored.

So today consisted of driving to a depot to pick up a pressure washer. Oh the glamourous life of a popstar. Laura and Leighann came with me and i'm glad they did as we were driving around for ages trying to find the bloody place.
we finally got there and we were like faulty towers trying to get the thing in the bloody car. After this we went to the shopping centre and had a good laugh at people attempting to ice skate. It was quite amusing, although i did point out that at least they were trying, if it was me i would just be clinging to the railing the whole time. After this we went into town and had some food at a restaurant called Amore. It was very tasty, although the chef took a shine to me and made my pizza the shape of a love heart! i was extremely embarrased.

It's so funny how quickly i settle back into normal life. It's weird that one minute i'm galavanting around the world and the next minute i fill my days watching people ice skate!
However boring my account of today seems, i can assure you i had a very nice time.

I've started using the site Twitter, and after a few hours of adding Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, i had to delete them. They post annoying crap every 2 seconds. Do they actually have nothing to do? They make my life of pressure washers seem interesting!!

I've also been to the cinema this week to see 'The Damned United' It was great! I've heard so much about Brian Clough, as my buddy Pete is from Nottingham and Clough is his absolute hero! I thought it was an amazing film and i was so happy to see Stephen Graham playing Billy Bremner, although his accent was a bit ropey ;-)
I met Stephen Graham last year at the silver clef awards and he told me how much he loved my voice and my album. It was nuts. I was Watching him playing a hooligan in 'This is England' and it was funny to think he went home and listened to This is the life ;-) Love it!

So this has been quite a disjointed little blog.
I haven't been too busy as you can probably tell ;-)

Just keeping you in the loop.

Night xx

Ps. I love Paolo's new song, Candy. I think it's a beautiful song.

Somewhere in the world today, one person will buy the 2,500,000th copy of This is the Life.

NUTS!!!

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Good morning.
I'm so happy right now. The weather this week has been wonderful, but not quite as 'roasting' as most of the scots seem to think ;-)

It's funny, as soon as the sun comes out the clothes come off. I was in town with my mum yesterday and the amount of stupid girls we seen wearing vest tops and flipflops! it might be sunny but it's still not warm!
It's amazing how happy the sun makes you. Stevie's been outside every day this week washing the cars. How many times can one man wash a car??? In his case ALOT!!!

I'm still in my bed and have been so lazy. I just phoned the landline from my mobile and when Steve answered i asked if i could put in an order for room service ;-)

So this week has been quite chilled, i always have so many little errands to run so when i get time off i really make use of it.

On Thursday I was playing at the launch dinner of the new Audi terminal in Edinburgh. I was sooo happy to be there, everyone knows of my love of Audis. I was performing right next to a lovely white R8, was probably the best audience i've ever had, R8's, Q7's, TT's hahaha ;-)
We were given a lovely meal by the chef Martin Wishart, it was pretty special. and it was nice to see Jamie eat something without moaning, he just wolfed it down ;-)

I don't really have alot to say really, just thought i should maybe write a wee blog to catch up.

I'm on the home stretch, as we've been calling it. After 2 years of promoting this album, it is about to come to an end. It wasn't really a natural end, as people are still requesting promo trips constantly, it's more a case of if we dont come to an end with this album then i'll still be promoting it when im 40!
I constantly say it but it really is incredible how well things have gone. I'm really grateful to everyone.

So i finish up with 2 gigs in Paris in around a weeks time and then i have 3 months off to get some songs together and try and get some demos recorded. I am one of these people that only ever gets inspired when i'm at home. So everytime i've been here i've sat down in my wee music room and tried to come up with something. I've got a few songs which i'm really chuffed with and it's so nice to be doing things in my own time and not to be pressured by anyone. Everyone at my label is great and I understand how lucky i am to have complete creative control with such a huge company.

There's obviously been stories in the press recently about people that don't have that control and it makes me realise what a horrible business this can be. I find it truly shocking that a young boy can have all his dreams come true and then  have them taken away so quickly. I hate everything that these reality programmes stand for and i find them completely cruel and humiliating.
Simon Cowell has no interest in music, his interest is money.
Obviously there are alot of talented people that come from these shows and i'm not disputing that. I just wish there was a better way for them to get noticed. I don't see what's entertaining about a middle aged man upsetting some young girl or boy with scathing remarks about their singing.

I'm sorry about my ranting i just get so annoyed by certain things and i just can't help it!

Anyway moving on.....
So after my 3 months off i'll be playing alot of European festivals in the summer. It's going to be a busy few months but i'm going to recharge my batteries beforehand and go to the Maldives. Stevie and i have been admiring the Maldives for a while and we just decided lets do it. We'll probably have to sell the house first, in order to afford it ;-)

So back to the Scottish Sun. Yesterday i had my sunroof open!!!!! In Glasgow!!! I was rumaging through some of my old things at my mums house and i found my old Cd wallets filled with mixup cds that my friends Leighann, Kelly, Laura and I made for T in the Park 2006. I can't believe it was so long ago. These CD's are absolute crackers! Every song was a tune. My 3 favourites being, Disco Down by shed 7, Disco 2000 by pulp and the Passenger by Iggy Pop. I was just driving around with them absolutely blarring!!!it was brilliant!!

Anyway my chat has been particulary crap today, so i do apologise for having nothing to say ;-)

Hello,

I'm currently sitting in my lovely hotel room in Lisbon, Portugal.
I don't need to start work until 12pm and thought i'd have a nice lie in.
However before i went to sleep i had a wee check of my email and found that i had been successful in my michaeljacksonlive registration, so i had a nice wee code for a presale ticket.

So i got up at 645 this morning and have been sat here ever since. There's this little annoying window that says your wait time is 15minutes or more. I had this 15minutes thing for about 40 minutes and it finally got right down to a few minutes and then it said there was an error!! I was absolutely raging. I had to start all over again and i'm back to my 15mins.

I don't really hold out much hope as i think they tickets will probably be gone by now, but i'm still trying.

I absolutely love Michael Jackson. It was the first concert i ever went to when i was quite young. My mum and dad took my sister and i to wembley stadium to see him and everyone who knows me remembers that my beloved dog Jackson was named after him :-)

I've just been given another error page after about 30minutes wait! So annoying.

Anyway, so i'm in Portugal for a showcase. Myself and the band have never been over here before and as a soap opera had been playing this is the life then it started to push the song onto the radio stations and stuff. It's been sat at the top of the portuguese itunes chart for about a week! It's so nice to see the sun again! I'm sat with my balcony open listening to all the cars whizz by. It's meant to be between 22 and 25 degrees here today which is lovely!!

So not all's good. I fear i have chicken pox. I never had them as a child, but i've started to come up in weird itchy red patches. There's not loads of them but there seems to be a few more every couple of hours. I feel totally fine, i just hope it's not chicken pox, or that it doesn't spread to my face and i'll look ridiculous! I'm still holding out that it's probably just a weird rash of some sort ;-(

I can't really think of anything else to say but please do cross your fingers for me on the MJ and chicken pox front ;-)

Hello,

i'm writing to you from le meridien hotel in stuttgart. It's a lovely sunny day here and i'm just back from a little wander. I'm leaving shortly to go and soundcheck at the venue we're playing tonight.

I've had a pretty incredible few days. Thing's have just went so well.
It all started in Zurich a few days ago. My band and i were performing at the swiss music awards we had a great time and it was even better as i picked up 2 awards. Best International song and Best International album(beating coldplay).
It was amazing and i felt so honoured to be there.

After Zurich we travelled to Berlin for the Echo awards. We spent all of Friday at the O2 world doing rehersals for the show which took place on Saturday. The O2 world in Berlin is amazing. It's only a few months old so everything is brand new and the place is huuuuge!
Our rehersals went really well and we spent the evening at a charity dinner. There was comedy and speeches but it was a bit hard to understand as it was all in German.

So Saturday came and it was very exciting. I was so lucky to be able to perform at such a massive event. It was great performing on the same stage as people like U2, Lionel Richie, Razorlight and Depeche Mode.

At Around 730pm I had to go outside to do the red carpet. I find red carpets really embarrasing. I can't get my head round people wanting my autograph or photos of me. It's strange. So half way through getting my photos taken i saw that someone was hiding behind me and it turned out to be LIONEL RICHIE!! We had a wee chat and then had lots of photos taken together. It was surreal. Lionel is such a massive star and he was standing there with me!! Nuts!

So once i was finished with the red carpet I went inside the arena. Tina, who works for my German label, told me she had something for me. It was a piece of cardboard with a note saying 'Amy come and say hello to your fan club' signed Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam. I couldn't believe it. I was completely shell shocked! U2 wanted to meet me!!!! Pete(my manager) and I basically stood in silence for about 10 minutes, not knowing what to say.

We went to the side of the stage to watch U2 perform. They were amazing.
About 5 minutes later their PA came to find us and said that the note was an invitation and we should come and say hello. We were frantically trying to get Sarah to come down as she was the only one with a camera, she was running all over trying to find us and luckily she got there in time.

We went into thier dressing room and i was so nervous. I couldn't quite believe it. We all said hello and i was just so shocked that U2 actually knew who i was. Larry seemed to know the most and was talking to me about my videos and said that he thought it was brilliant that i was doing my own thing and wasn't like any of the other female artists that are around just now. He said he thought it was wonderful that i was so unique. I'm still in total shock. Pete explained to Bono how we all met and how everything had started. We were in there for about 30mins just talking and drinking. All of the guys were so nice, and so down to earth. They were all joking and taking the piss out of each other :-) We talked about The Killers and The kings of Leon, 2 of my favourite bands who have both toured with U2.I was gutted i had to leave, but i was due on stage very soon.
I asked if we could get a quick picture and it turned out so well, which i was happy about.

Pete, Sarah and i then had to head very quickly to the aritist pit as they were about to announce the winner of best international newcomer. I was up against people like Duffy and Leona Lewis, i really didn't expect to win as i tend to be completely ignored by all award ceromonies, to my amazement i did win!! It was incredible and it means so much to me. Germany is one of the biggest musical terrotories and to be recognised here is amazing.

After the show the band and i had alot of champagne :-)

A few days later i played my biggest gig to date infront of 7000 people!!! It was great!

Things are going so well for me now and i've had an amazing few days.Thankyou to everyone for all the continued support

Amy xxxx

Ps. check out my amazing photos!!!

Good morning,

i'm writing this from my bed :-) I'm not long up.
I didn't get home until 130am last night as Stevie and I had been in London.
We had such a great weekend.

Stevie took me for an amazing valentines dinner at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Claridges. It was gorgeous. I never really go to upmarket places as i get really embarrased. I don't know why, i'm a bit silly. Our night was brilliant, we were also staying in Mayfair and enjoyed wandering about looking at all the amazing cars. Bentleys are quite common round there ;-)
I managed to drag Stevie around Harrods for a bit and we bought a bottle of shampoo for the dog which was £16!!! I did have some shopping time to myself and treated myself to some gorgeous YSL shoes. I never really buy anything designer as i'd rather buy 10 things from topshop than one expensive thing. I do have to say my clothing habbit is getting completely out of control. Stevie turned a whole bedroom into a wardrobe for me, it's like a clothes shop with rails all round, but im beginning to run out of room ;-)

We thought as we were going to london for valentines we may aswell take the car down. We've always wanted to get it completely cleaned by a company called 'Miracle Detail' who are based down there. I'm shocked at how good it looks. It's been completely transformed. I can see my full reflection in it!
The company is based right next to the racetrack used in topgear, i had to stop myself from driving right on the track!

So we drove back last night. I took the second shift and told Stevie to go to sleep as he had work today but he said it was impossible to sleep with me driving as i think everyone is out to get me. I never really noticed before but i talk to myself all the time when driving. Everyone's an arse, and nobody on the road should be allowed to drive - according to me ;-)
I've been admiring my car out the window and after doing the 430mile drive there is not one bit of dirt or grime on it, it's got special wax on it that keeps it nice and clean. I really am a bit sad ;-)

So i had the perfect weekend and now i'm looking forward to the rest of this week.

I'm performing at the Swiss music awards on Thursday, where i'm nominated for 3 awards and then on Saturday performing at The German Echos where i'm also nominated for a few awards :-) I'm getting really excited and i'm going to try my best to meet Bono. That would be pretty amazing.

The reason i'm awake when i'm still so tired is because i'm waiting for a delivery of some posh frocks ;-) I've been lent some desinger clothes and shoes to wear to these events. I can't wait to try them all on :-)

Anyway  I best be off now, got a few episodes of come dine with me to watch ;-)

So, i get sent emails giving me updates on every chart postion and album sales throughout the world.

I look on something like wikipedia, and see that there are so many mistakes on there. Now it's quite special to me getting a number 1 single and album and some chart positions that people have entered on wikipedia take my number 1's away from me.

So i decided i would correct the page and enter the right positions. It helps me for the information on there to be correct as alot of people who interview me use this site as their reference.

However every time i try to change anything, it get's changed back by people who then get so annoyed at me and tell me i'm wrong.

I know this is such a random blog but i find it hilarious. I was actually sitting laughing to myself when i got a message telling me i was wrong and with no references i had no right to change any information.

Surely i am reference enough hahahaha

Anyway I've tried and failed to put the right information on this website, so take anything on it with a huuuuuge pinch of salt :-)
