"Every year,
thousands of animals, including pigs, goats, and monkeys, are used in exercises
organized by the Department of Defense. Current exercises include shooting, stabbing, and burning live pigs; cutting goats' legs off with sharp shears; and poisoning monkeys with toxic chemicals—all to train medics on how
to treat human injuries on the battlefield. These exercises are still being
conducted on many military bases in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world,
despite the availability of superior non-animal methods.”
Please join us in
calling for an end to shooting, stabbing, poisoning, and mutilating live
animals in trauma exercises now!

The G-20 meet this week in our hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.
“The Group of Twenty (G-20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors represents the world’s economic leaders, intimately connected to the most powerful multi-national corporations that dominate the global economy. Their neo-liberal policies have squandered billions on war, plunged economies into deep recessions, worsened social, economic and political inequality, and polluted the earth.”
Change never comes from the top down; it always comes from the bottom up. Join with us in non-violent protest against destructive and unjust policies.
::::Peoples' March to the G-20::::
Friday, Sept. 25 - Pittsburgh, PA
5th & Craft Avenues, Oakland
:Nonviolent and permitted:
Money for Human Needs, Not for Wars and Occupations.
Environmental Justice for the Earth and its Inhabitant.
Jobs and Health Care for All.

Due to the expansive location of the security perimeter for the G20 meetings and its proximity to the venue, Anti-Flag, Drusky Entertainment, and Students for a Democratic Society feel they must make the regrettable decision to cancel "A G20 Welcoming Party" with Anti-Flag, State Radio, and Ryan Harvey scheduled for September 24th at Club Zoo.
While we are disappointed this concert will not happen, we are looking forward to joining the thousands of young people in the streets of Pittsburgh to resist the failed policies of the G20, September 20th-25th!
Information about the activities planned around resisting the G20 can be found at http://www.newsds.org.
