we have contributed a song to the audioscope compilation being released in october this year, in aid of the homeless charity SHELTER.

audioscope is an oxford-based yearly fundraising event, this year they are releasing a download-only compilation featuring rare and exclusive tracks by four tet, maps, clinic, shooting at unarmed men and more...

our contribution is an instrumental called "carry knots" which was previously only available on a limited 7" press of this is not for you which we released in 2008.

people.....we are pleased to announce we're playing a low key show at this year's leeds festival. we'll be headlining the dance to the radio stage a day early, on thursday 27th august, so all you super keen camper types who like to get in there and get yr spot in the mud dead early will be able to see us. it's also our only english festival appearance this year. we'll be getting in and out before anyone sets fire to the toilets.

peace.

we did a show for the mercury music prize a couple of weeks ago, it was filmed with a set of huge expensive-looking cameras and had loads of clever lights all over the place, in the hospital club in london. it was half full of competition winners and half full of weird media people.

it looks pretty cool.

you can see it : www.mercuryprize.com/sessions/

listen carefully. we're playing hospital in london's covent garden next week with ladyhawke. it's a mercury music prize live thing in a way small place apparently. so it should be fun.

but here's the twist.

you, THE PUBLIC, can't get tickets unless you go on the mercury prize myspace page, leave a comment asking which BRS songs you want to hear, and hope for them to pick you out of a hat. i know that's all pretty exciting isn't it? don't you just LOVE a mindless convoluted competition? yup. us too.

so go leave a list of yr favourite BRS songs here:  www.myspace.com/mercuryprize  and with any luck you'll get in and we'll play some of them.

alright so we have some more festivals appearing in our diary which is nice. this time it's in belgium and the netherlands....

pukkelpop - friday 21st august, we headline a tent (forgot the name tho, sorry) - it's also the same day the jesus lizard are playing and i just saw them last night and it was utterly brutally fucking proper so this will probably be the coolest festival in history. plus this time you don't get metallica's bullshit you get MBV headlining the night before.

breda barst - sunday 20th sept, this is a cool free festival in breda, holland, we played the town on tour before and it was fun, this should be cooler since anyone can get in if they can travel over. not sure who else is playing it yet tho.

we have a few more UK festivals that we're trying to force ourselves upon for fun, news on that if it works out. plus we're gonna start sticking up some video updates of the new album's progress.

hey so apologies to anyone who's tried to use our webshop over the last few days - the company that ran it (and apparently a lot of other bands' shops too) went bust on friday 13th. weird eh////
so we're just getting our shirts back and setting up a shop with a new company, which will hopefully last a bit longer. when we do, we're gonna run a sale on everything too.

if you're waiting on an order from the old online store, PLEASE let us know directly because we're not sure how it'll pan out with you getting stuff - email the details to admin@bloodredshoes.co.uk and we'll try to sort it out for you.
