I.









"The lyrics to "Big Eyes" was a classic Souls collaboration. When we colaborate on lyrics it can make the song meaning a bit vague because the original inspirations came from different heads. Somehow we follow a musical/lyrical thread that makes sense in some indescribable way and they fit together. I was gone for a couple of days from the writing session and when I came back the guys had created the chorus lyrics and music to this song. After hearing what the guys had written with Ted, I imagined a girl of about twenty moving to a big city to start a life on her own. I saw Los Angeles in my mind, with its high aspirations and troubled dark side. The verse music came next and the verse lyrics evolved over time. To me, the song is not exactly about anything. Maybe its talking about wanting a friend. Maybe its about the search for a real friend." - Greg

Rich Cunningham formed Happy Days Records in 1995, releasing debut records by Hot Water Music and Ink & Dagger, as well as titles by Endeavor, Times Up, and Human Remains. In 2000 he formed New Labor, an alternative model of worker organization that combines new and existing strategies to improve working conditions and provide a voice for low-wage, young, immigrant workers in central New Jersey. In 2005 Rich was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a four-year battle, the 32-year-old labor leader died on September 4th, leaving colleagues to mourn the man whose efforts were nationally recognized.




All proceeds from these auctions will go directly to Rich Cunningham's wife, Heather, and his two children, Reese and Lilly. Please take a look by clicking HERE

We love Halloween. Love to play shows on Halloween and get dressed up and decorate the stage and make bad jokes and say BOO! A lot. Great fun for kids of all ages!

This year we have a 2-night stand at the beautiful EL REY theater in Hollywood. Come by on Mischief Night (10-30 for those of you who didn’t grow up where this was a seminal coming-of-age holiday) and check out your competition, cause on Halloween… there’s gonna be fun, candy, and a COSTUME CONTEST!!!!!

That’s right, on Halloween night, come to the show with your best costume! Sign up at the merch booth and then we’ll do the judging right before the souls play!

We’re well on our way to making HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS Jersey’s coolest holiday tradition!  This is our third year which marks the distinction between ‘maybe we can pull this off’ and ‘a lifetime commitment’.  We’re happy to assemble a wild cast of our friends and comrades to entertain you and wish you well for the coming year.  What’s better at the holidays than getting together with a couple hundred of your closest friends and toasting each other’s health?

Coming next week… The Bouncing Souls and Bayside bring the East Coast flavor across the west, celebrating The Bouncing Souls 20-year anniversary, and the last leg on a year-long world tour. Be sure to come and celebrate as we usher in the holiday season with one last romp this year. We became friends with Bayside over the summer drinking together in the fields and parking lots of the Warped Tour. Then we realized they were our neighbors just across the river in Long Island! And then we realized they were a really good band! This will be a great tour! Also on board is our soon-to be-buds Broadway Calls!

Also…A special treat for those of you in Hollywoodland… NO WAY!!! This October 30/31st We’ll be celebrating punk rock’s 2 greatest holidays back to back: Mischief Night and Halloween!!! Growing up in Jersey, Mischief night was always celebrated the night before Halloween. Under the cloak of darkness, kids deviously observed such time-honored traditions such as “T.P.ing” neighbors’ houses, smearing windows with shaving cream, etc. Ahh.. Good Times! And then on Halooween night, BEWARE! There’s nothing better than a Souls show on Halloween! Muhahahah! We love badass stuff, it's a big part of what that has driven us since our first Kiss record in 3rd grade; discovering BMX, skating and surfing, Kung Fu movies, motorcycles, the Bad Brains and Cromags, punk belts and Slayer, Charles Bronson and so on. We shouted out anything and everything that came to our mind the day we wrote and recorded "Badass". But of course, no 2-minute punk song could possibly contain all things badass, so...

Bayside has been on our radar for a while now, we'd heard a lot of good things about them and liked their music so we asked them to join our fall tour. Since then we've spent 3 straight weeks of hanging out together the Warped Tour, and have since become great friends and fans of the band. This is gonna be a great tour!
