I realized it had been a while since we put a straight forward update on here... so allow me to break it down for you. We've been writing/recording demos for our 3rd album. We're slowly turning the corner on this process and Im starting to feel like the core of the album has begun to rear its head. We've had some meetings with some potential producers and the excitement is building. As far as the songs go... there are alot to choose from still and they run the gamut of everything we've ever wanted to be as a band. its gonna be really interesting to see what this collection becomes because of course we're still writing new songs on the daily and each time a new one is born it is somewhat immediately competing with a hundred others for our attention. regardless these are by far our most advanced works. its been a ridiculously odd luxury to have time to truly focus and refine our ideas before entering a studio. in an effort to avoid redundancy im going to end this now with 2 words.... thank you. -colin

How's this song make you feel?  please look up the lyrics.  I heard this on the radio and they don't even censor "fuckin" anymore.  Actually, when I think about it, there are other things that should be censored in this song way before the word "fuckin".  like the entire song

Thank you so much to everyone who came out in Philadelphia and in cities all over the world to take a stand against the on-going war in Africa.  In the past 23 years, there have been over 30,000 children abducted and made to fight in a war that began long before they were born.  Their mothers are often raped, killed or both and still nothing has been done to stop this war.
On April 25th, tens of thousands of people came out in 100 different cities across the globe to sit in peaceful protest in an event called "The Rescue".  My girlfriend and I went to volunteer in Philly and I have to say it was an amazing experience.  The gathering was held in Independence Mall Park, just across from Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was inked.  The location was perfect.  On Saturday over 1,000 people showed up, the majority of which met at Campbells field in Camden, NJ and walked together to the park.  What was meant to be a one night event turned into a two day affair as many people stayed almost forty hours to ensure that the event's most important goal be met.  We were waiting for a major mogul from the area to come out and speak on behalf of the cause. Although, most people didn't really sleep through the first night, the second day truly began at 6 a.m. as film crews from ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX news all showed up with in minutes of each other to cover the story.  The hundreds of people who still remained from the day before immediately rejoiced in dancing and chanting in front of the cameras.  Our voices had been heard.  Over the next few hours the temperature grew quickly to an extremely sunny 90 degrees.  I've dealt with sleep deprivation before but never in sweltering heat.  The effect was somewhat maddening and resulted in a couple of hundred protestors who were borderline insane.  From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. it was up to those 100 insane people to call everyone that they knew in order to find some mogul to come and "rescue" us.  The term had begun to feel very relevant.  At around 3 o'clock there was a breakthrough as one of the organizers was able to contact Bucks County PA Representative, Patrick Murphy's office.  Although it was a Sunday, and he had a full schedule, representative Murphy agreed to come and speak on our behalf.  At 7 p.m. after some people had been at the park for almost 36 hours and awake for more than 40, our rescuer finally took the stage.  Since he was unfamiliar with the subject, (as are most Americans, politician or not), our volunteers wrote a short speech for him to give upon his arrival.  However when they offered it to him he protested saying he would rather speak from the heart.  At this point in my life, as soon as a politician begins talking I can't help feeling like they are an alien wearing a cloack of human skin.  They stare into me spinning expert lies until before I know it I've forgotten I suspected them to be a liars.  It doesn't matter who it is or even if I voted for them.  It's just a default attitude I can't seem to shake.  This speech was no different, I spent a few minutes listening to him speak and wishing I believed everything that he said.  Realistically, I liked everything I was hearing.  Due to his time in the Iraq war where he had lost 19 friends in all, he had returned home determined to find himself a position in the goverment where his voice would matter, and there he would fight for peace on all fronts.  So far so good, but still, if I turn my back he might lunge for my throat, take me back to his planet to use me as fuel for their vehicles.  The one thing that he said that made me really drop my guard a bit was something very similar to this.  "Too many people in congress these days vote one way on an issue because the majority heavily favors it.  Because of the pressure they get from different areas.  I've had people tell me, 'you may not agree but just hold your nose and make the vote.'  People do this because they are afraid to lose their seat.  I don't agree with this position, if I have to go back to being a school teacher when this term ends then I will, but for now while I am here I will do everything I can to stand for what I believe."
That's how this goverment should be run.  Patrick Murphy ended his speech by saying he was on his way back to D.C. the next morning and he would do everything he could to get in the ears of the right people.  To get the ball rolling so to speak.
And this happened in 100 cities across the world.  The whispers are out there and they are growing stronger.
After nearly forty hours of singing and dancing and writing letters to senators and to President Obama we headed home.  Rescued.  We were struck with a very strong sense that we didn't do very much and still we were part of something very massive.  Our presence and our caring were enough.  And I thought to myself, if everyone cared just that much, just that little bit, what a different world that would be.  And we slept...

A friend of ours made a really fun game for the IPhone and we thought we would share it with you.  Jakob is actually one of our favorite artists who we keep in our art lab working round the clock on t-shirt designs, poster designs you name it.  Actually, he and Steve have been talking about making a Circa IPhone app.  good times.  Anyway, just go to the app store and search sea rascals.  It's a great little puzzle game.  See you guys on the high schore board.

PHILADELPHIA,
It is 5:30 p.m. on Sunday the 26th of April.  At 7:15 Representative Patrick Murphy is supposed to arrive at 6th and Market, (Independence Mall Park), to Rescue the remainder of the Invisible Children abductee's.  To learn more about this event you can go to www.invisiblechildren.com  In short though, if you are in Philly and you have the time to be here even if it's just for thirty minutes.  It will make a huge impact on a lot of lives.  There are supporters that have been here sitting in the park, dancing and singing together for up to 34 hours.  I've been here for about 26 and haven't slept a wink.  We honestly need your help.  Last night there were hundreds of people here to be a part of this but many of them were not prepared for this to turn into a two day event.  There are still people here and we will wait until Patrick Murphy is here we will talk to him and we will complete the last goal we need to meet by bringing out a mogul who will be able to have an impact on this situation.  However, this would be a lot more powerful if we had you here.  Your support just for thirty minutes would be amazing.  If you believe in the cause at all if you have the time at all or if you just want to come down and say hi.  PLEASE DO IT!  7 p.m.     6th street and Market
thank you,
brendan

“terms such as ‘nonobjective’ or ‘abstract’ are nothing more than a screen for concealing a defect. people who have nothing to say take shelter behind a disguise labeled nonobjective or abstract.”

is one of my favorite smelling plants. it comes in beautiful colors and gives off an aroma that makes me feel drunk with nostalgia. my mother would keep them in the house this time of year & the other day while is was walking my dog lily( which is strange because hyacinth was originally considered as kind of lily, but now as the type genus of the separate family hyacinthaceae) and i saw one so i knelt down to give it a wif. for a brief moment i was traveling through time and space with the scent, i went back to different eras in my existence and then somewhere totally beyond anything i can ever remember having experienced . its only for a split second. then the rain came, cleansing and making way for new smells. what does that for you this time of year? don’t you think there should be thanksgiving in every season ???

its not sad- not after i think about it enough-just the way it is
its woven in between the stitches covering the cages-
its just humanity
as i see it from this point -all eyes on the magician
and little to no concern of the trap door …
or the rabbit and how fast it can run
.. until its to late
its not the work its the worry. still i can hardly tell them apart.
i was wrong about everything i ever thought i ever wanted.
it was all just a feeling
and nothing else
-nothing
no matter how certain i am
that i was touched
it was all just a story i told over and over until it was all i thought
to be true
but i remember clearly now
after hearing it said-(your doing all the right things)
that i felt nothing through out it all
nothing-
and its not sad-
not after going threw it
even just for a moment
not after being dragged over the soil
and sand
and sidewalk
and cities
from coast to coast
into and out of places i never could of imagined
—its shattering
and explosive
and its needs to have an image
it needs to have a voice .

This song is 100% improvised by the way.  Not that that is amazing on the music side but pretty fucking stellar on Anthony's part.  Maybe one day we can post all the lyrics.  Or maybe you guys can interpret it for us.
