Unfortunately Escape Fails have effectively withdrawn their entry to the Kerrang! Black XS LiveSound competition, as we are no longer the same Escape Fails line-up that entered. We would like to thank all at Kerrang!, Paul Harries, Paul Xavier, Rose Forde, Charlie Simpson and all the other bands for the fantastic experience back in September.

It is with sadness we feel the need to clear our name, and the names of our fans and loved ones due to the aftermath of us parting ways with Ryan.  We are saddened to see the loss of any friend or fan through any lies, untrue personal attacks and false allegations that have been made.  Any of you who have met us will know we are grounded, down to earth people, who love playing the songs we write to anyone who will listen. We are very lucky to have such amazing fans, friends, families and loved ones.  We wouldn't be where we are without all the support, encouragement and input everyone has given us over the years, and we thank you all for this.

This is not the end, but an exciting new chapter for Escape Fails.  We will blow your mind with more amazing songs, catchy riffs, powerful live performances and raw energy than ever before. We know you will enjoy sharing the bright future we have ahead, and thank you for your continued support.  We are currently writing new songs, re-writing old songs and bringing back older classics, and can't wait to let everyone hear it.  Keep checking back for more updates, you won't be disappointed.

We wish Ryan all the success he deserves with his new band.

We have parted ways with singer Ryan Adair due to irreconcilable differences.

It would be unfair to summarise on the behalf of any one person involved.

We wish Ryan all the best with any of his future projects.

Escape Fails are currently auditioning for a new singer, check back for updates.

For those of you who have seen our Tweets about our HUGE news, well now is the time to share it with you all. Some of you may remember a few months back we entered Kerrang! magazine's Black XS UK LiveSound Competition and asked you to vote for us. Well, we are both honoured and delighted to announce that out of the 600+ bands who entered, ESCAPE FAILS have been chosen as 1 of the 4 finalists.

As some of you figured out on Twitter, we were in London on the 17th and 18th September. We had a makeover by a professional stylist for a photo shoot by rock photographer Paul Harries, which will appear in a Kerrang! magazine soon. We also visited Gibson Studios where we were able to meet and question Charlie Simpson from Fightstar about his experiences in the music industry.

The Live Final will also be held at Gibson Studios, London on the 16th November where we will be performing in front of an audience of industry experts and Kerrang! ticket winners. The grand prize is a record deal with Search & Destroy Records, (home of Fightstar & local boys In Case of Fire,) a feature in Kerrang! Magazine and an Epiphone Guitar.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to sign-up and vote for us - you can't begin to understand how much your continued support means. If you have any pictures taken with us or of us, or just want to make your feelings known, please email feedback@kerrang.com

Don't forget to follow us on Twitter for all the latest news http://twitter.com/escapefails and encourage all your friends to check us out.

Love, (Blood, Family, You)

"Headliners Escape Fails bring things to a suitably rowdy finish, with short, sharp hardcore shots to the midriff, reminding me of Life Of Agony in their heyday. The only downside is the brevity of their set, perhaps mitigated by the fact that, counting the bar staff, there were only about two dozen people still in the room – and it was just about midnight!

I’ve already rehearsed my arguments about Belfast metal audiences – complaining about not having any good bands and then not supporting some of the rather fine exponents of the craft that we have labouring away on nights like this – so I’m not going to go over them again. But I would like to say one thing: Auntie Annie’s is one of those venues with a reputation for having an awful sound – tonight it was excellent. swegony"

Tonight's headliners - selected to play a gig, earlier in the year, held by the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People in which The Answer made an appearance - Escape Fails. These guys came highly recommended from a number of people and despite being badly cramped on the stage, these guys put on a show to remember. Restoring the night to pure hardcore metal again, they played a great set which included 'Obsession', 'In the Arms of the Storm' and, my favourite, 'Brighten the Blackest Sky' - a song which you could slip into a Metal Hammer CD and it would fit in seamlessly. Vocalist Ryan made real space and took advantage of the empty floor by floating on and off the stage to scream to some folk in the audience, much to their delight and enjoyment - some true performers. I must admit, I really enjoyed their set and from the back of the room, I could really soak up the atmosphere, it was terrific. I'd definitely go and see these guys again and with their album, 'Love, Blood, Family, You' out now, I'll definitely be getting a copy.

Steve, he's been through a lot with us. Two bands, two singers, from playing to crowds of ten, to over a thousand. His contribution to the band will always be cherished. With regret there comes a point where silly things called careers devour our time into the late hours - as Steve's career blossoms, the limitations of time as a dedicated EF member have become pronounced. For that reason, we amicably and regrettably say farewell and wish all the very best to Steve.

You can be sure that any of Steve's future musical adventures will be forced by us upon your ears :)

Steve, it's been a blast,
Love EF

Some Steve Facts

Steve "Ol' Man/Deppmeister" Livingstone has been with us since the [manymore] days, before the existence of Escape Fails.
When he first started, he had hair.
We spelt his name wrong on the [manymore] demo, "Feel For Something."
Then we 'corrected' his grammar on the Escape Fails album, "Love, Blood, Family, You." He still forgave us...we think...
Accidently dyed his wrist pink after wearing a Christmas gift bracelet given to him at a Magnet Christmas Show
Played in two bands, Inchi and Escape Fails, on the same night after learning Inchi songs in a few days

"So we shall pass on separate ways,
As vessels parting on the main,
And in the years to come, our paths
May never meet or cross again.

Yet when life's voyage all is done,
Where'er apart our paths may tens,
We'll drop our anchors side by side
In the same harbor at the end"
