It's been a long time. We shouldn't have left you...

After the touring for OLTA came to an end, we all dispersed to tend to our individual personal lives.
...And to get our ducks in a row.

Now the band has reconvened, and we are rehearsing new songs.

We find ourselves marveling at the tremendous focus
that has defined our early rehearsals for this, our 4th effort.

All kidding aside, we feel like a new band.

Once again, we have no concept to this batch of song-writing.
(We are often asked about our intentions when we set out to write music.)
There is rarely any intention to this process.
We just make the music.

And without going into too much detail, the songs sound vital.

It's as though we've hit upon a balance between our urgency and
our calm. And true to our better work, this is music that unravels over time.

We anticipate that, once it's done, you high-minded folks will welcome the music...into your bedrooms...to swagger and breathe...

It's still early, yet, though. We will keep you posted.

In the meantime, a couple of us have kept ourselves busy with extra-curricular activities. Carlos has made a film called My Friends Told Me About You and Sam has released a record with his band Magnetic Morning.

And we hope that you're all weathering well the turmoil of the age.

Hello All,

It has been awhile. We've been sleeping but soon to be awake. Looking forward to stretching our legs come July and visiting some fine friends through many lands. Looking forward indeed to meeting new friends in new lands (to us) in Poland and Finland. Cannot wait indeed. We'll try to make it an event. It's been too long as they say. And now the time is upon us. No sir, we cannot wait any longer. July is destined to be a mighty month. Here's to stretching them legs and visiting old & new friends in lands far and near. Hip hip, here we come.

Magnetic Morning's debut EP on DH Records will be in stores this Saturday,
April 19th- Record Store Day. This special five-song EP is the product of a
unique collaboration between: singer/guitarist, Adam Franklin (Swervedriver/
Toshack Highway) and drummer Sam Fogarino (Interpol). In celebration of both
Record Store Day and the release, Sam will be DJing at Other Music in New
York (15 East 4th Street) at 5pm EST the same day.

been out, and abroad to japan; played the summer sonic festival (tokyo/osaka) in the dense swelter that shrouds the mid regions of the country. however, the selection of tasty cold bevies (iced coffee at every turn) helps to sooth the heat-born malaise... as do the fair, and kind people of japan.

also, austria was on the itinerary. we visited salzburg for the first time. a devastatingly beautiful part of the western world. the fine austrian folk greeted us with great energy, and enthusiasm at the frequency festival, which we will never forget.
