3 years ago when i was in chile on my own, i got given the "Esquemas Juveniles" , the debut album of Javiera Mena. When i got back i listened to it all the time and it became my favourite cd of 2007, and the first album sung in spanish i ever liked. So it is very exciting that Javiera has accepted to come all the way to Europe(for the first time) to open for us in Madrid, Vigo, Braga, and Lisboa. Unfortunately the shows in Barcelona and San Sebastian are part of festivals that have a set time schedule and we werent able to include Javiera and on the bill there. Maybe at the afterparty. We'll see.
Normally she performs with a band, but that would have been very expensive for us, so she will base her set on vocals and piano. With a surprise or two.

Sascha Steinfurth, who was the first to record the song Misread, is in a band called Stadt Land Fluss. They are an instrumental band somewhere between KoC, Kraftwerk and Bach. Check them out on their myspace site that you will find in our"top friends". They will play before us at huxleys. Get there early!

In theory, we don't mind being photographed or filmed when we play. But.
Big professional cameras make a loud "click" when they take a picture. That can be very annoying for the person next to you or for us, the band, if you are close to the stage. This is because the quiet parts of Kings of convenience concerts, are VERY quiet.
If you have a small, digital camera, its better. They make less sound, and they are not so heavy(so it doesnt keep you from dancing)
If you are professional photographer here is my message to you: "We don't NEED you. Your work is not so important that you can behave like an elephant in a china-shop just to get your picture. Our fans have paid money to see us and waited for a long time. Be HUMBLE. At the end of our shows we play more up-beat stuff, and we move more on stage, and maybe the audience moves too. Wait till this happens and take pictures then."
We love youtube, and we dont mind you filming us. We prefer you making a little movie, rather than taking pictures, as there is no "click" and no flash. Just don't do it ALL THE TIME. It is important to capture the moment, but if the entire audience is more focused on their cameras than the music, there might not be any "moment". the "moment" might just pass us all by.

Dear people who live in London.
We will have an afterparty at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen after the show at the Barbican. We have invited Kakkmaddafakka, a great band from Bergen, to do a small show, maybe I will join on vocals with them for a song, and David from the famous Bergen bar Vamoose, will dj, playing songs we usually dance to there, and a lot of songs from Bergen based artists.
It is NOT a signing session, but as Eirik is not much of a dancer, he will probably stand outside and will be happy to chat with you about life and politics.
it costs 5 pounds to get in , half price if you show the ticket from the Barbican show.
