Paste Magazine, a great music and arts magazine published in the US, has named Denton, TX 'The Best Music Scene of 2008' in their December issue. Being Dentonites, we are very proud of the title and hope that it will introduce more people to our lovely hometown and the music it is breeding. To check out the article online and listen to some of the music from these parts, click here. Be sure to check out Matthew and The Arrogant Sea while there, Eric Pulido from Midlake just released their debut album on he and Robert Gomez' record label, Nova Posta Vinyl!

hello

Midlake play their final UK show of the year in just 2 weeks time. and what a final show it promises to be. They have been asked to headline the wonderful End of the Road Festival.

WHEN & WHERE IS IT?
The festival takes place from the 14th - 16th September, has a friendly and relaxed feel and the Larmer Tree Gardens (North Dorset/Wiltshire borders, UK ) is the perfect venue to create this kind of atmosphere - where music-loving, open minded and chilled out people get together in the beautiful countryside whilst parrots and peacocks wander around! Buy your tickets from the festival website.

WHO ELSE IS PLAYING?
Stephanie Dosen, Super Furry Animals, Yo La Tengo, Lambchop, British Sea Power, Howe Gelb, The Bees, Joan As Police Woman, Brakes, Danielson, King Creosote, Scout Niblett, Findlay Brown, Euros Childs, Architecture In Helsinki, Archie Bronson Outfit, Herman Dune, Malcolm Middleton, James Yorkston, Sunny Day Sets Fire, Jens Lekman, The Young Republic and many more.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?
The only festival to send you home recharged and refreshed, End of the Road features a mix of established alternative acts and the best in new music set in lush surroundings. It's what festivals should be about – community, discovering great new music, varied programme of arts and enjoying the fantastic countryside.

SCANDINAVIAN CONNECTION?
The Concretes, Hyacinth House, I'm From Barcelona, Frida Hyvönen, Loney, Dear, Marie Frank, Ane Brun and more... as well as Swedish food and snacks, and don't forget to have a go at playing the old Viking game called Kubb.

Rare Midlake EP, 'Milkmaid Grand Army' Available Now!!!

The long awaited re-release of Midlake's 2001 EP 'Milkmaid Grand Army' is now a reality. Available now in the US only on Basement Front Records, the seven-song EP was originally released independently almost 6 years ago in November of 2001. The initial pressing was a modest 1000 copies and, once the stock was depleted, the band decided to cease production, making the recording a rare collectors' item. That is, until now. With the release of Milkmaid Grand Army, Midlake reveals the beginning stages of a music career that has proven prosperous and continues to gain momentum. Midlake's latest album 'The Trials of Van Occupanther', released on Bella Union Records has already sold thousands of copies worldwide and promises further success. Midlake has toured extensively throughout this past year with enthusiastic reviews from both critics and fans alike. This Fall will see Midlake headlining their last US tour of the year and bring them back to the studio to begin work on their third full length record. Visit www.BasementFront.com to get your own piece of Midlake history with the Milkmaid Grand Army EP.
