Ozzy Autobiography ‘I AM OZZY’ getting 1st of October release in UK.

‘They’ve said some crazy things about me over the years. I mean, okay: “He bit the head off a bat.” Yes. “He bit the head off a dove.” Yes. But then you hear things like, “Ozzy went to the show last night, but he wouldn’t perform until he’d killed fifteen puppies…” Now me, kill fifteen puppies? I love puppies. I’ve got eighteen of the fucking things at home. I’ve killed a few cows in my time, mind you. And the chickens. I shot the chickens in my house that night.

It haunts me, all this crazy stuff. Every day of my life has been an event. I took lethal combinations of booze and drugs for thirty fucking years. I survived a direct hit by a plane, suicidal overdoses, STDs. I've been accused of attempted murder. Then I almost died while riding over a bump on a quad bike at fucking two miles per hour.

People ask me how come I’m still alive, and I don’t know what to say. When I was growing up, if you’d have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, which one of us would end up with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and Beverly Hills, I wouldn’t have put money on me, no fucking way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time.

A lot of it ain’t gonna be pretty. I’ve done some bad things in my time. I’ve always been drawn to the dark side, me. But I ain’t the devil. I’m just John Osbourne: a working class kid from Aston, who quit his job in the factory and went looking for a good time.’.

Frank, fearless, and very funny, I AM OZZY is his highly anticipated autobiography, in which Ozzy comes clean: in all senses.

Ozzy Osbourne was born in Aston, Birmingham in 1948. He has sold over a hundred million records both with Sabbath and as an award-winning solo artist. He has five children and lives with his wife Sharon in California and Buckinghamshire.

I AM OZZY
will be released Oct 1st, 2009 in the UK  with a US release coming soon.

OZZY OSBOURNE
TO PERFORM
AT THE SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL
ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
WHEN THE SUNSET STRIP WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER
THE ROCK ICON WILL NOW BOOKEND THE FESTIVAL
AS THE SSMF WEEKEND
KICKS OFF WITH AN EVENT IN HIS HONOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

Rock legend OZZY OSBOURNE will now be opening AND closing the second annual SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL (SSMF), set for September 10, 11 and 12.  The three-day festival will kick off when OZZY is honored at a tribute event Thursday, September 10 at the House of Blues and then OZZY will perform the festival’s final set Saturday, September 12. That’s when, for the first time ever, The Sunset Strip (between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Blvd.) will be closed to host two concert stages.  KORN, PEPPER, THE DONNAS and KOTTONMOUTH KINGS are among the 40 acts performing throughout the day.

OZZY’s appearance will mark his first full performance on The Sunset Strip in almost 40 years and his first ever as a solo artist.  Back in 1970, Black Sabbath performed a five-night stand (November 11-15) at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go as part of their first U.S. tour.  His career has spanned four decades and his music is as relevant today as ever. The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide--50 with Black Sabbath and as many as a solo artist--and in 2003 was honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard’s “Walk of Fame.”

Anticipation for OZZY at the SSMF 2009 is already building: his immortal image is now displayed on one of the largest billboards in Los Angeles.  It hangs high above The Sunset Strip spanning 12-stories (6,500 square feet tall) off the east side of the famous 9000 Building directly across the street from The Roxy Theatre and Rainbow Bar & Grill.  The signage will be lit at night allowing for its viewing from miles away.

On Saturday, September 12, there will be 40-plus music acts throughout the day performing on two stages set up on the street and on club stages within the street closure – Key Club, The Roxy Theatre, Cat Club and Whisky A Go-Go. Tickets are available now for a discounted price of $39.50.
SSMF is sponsored by Virgin America, V Australia, Andaz West Hollywood, 98.7 FM, Miller Lite, Ticketmaster, Jack Daniel’s, LA WEEKLY, Signature Creative, City of West Hollywood, West Hollywood Marketing & Visitors Bureau, Whole Foods West Hollywood, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Art Guitar.

Heavy metal icon to perform before a sold-out crowd at Blizzard Entertainment’s epic gaming festival

IRVINE, Calif. -- Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, will headline the closing concert at this year’s BlizzCon®, which will take place August 21-22 at the Anaheim Convention Center. While tickets to the convention sold out in minutes, a live Pay Per View event will be available via Internet stream and in HD on DIRECTV.

The largest event of its kind, BlizzCon is a celebration of Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft®, Diablo®, and StarCraft® game universes and the global player communities surrounding them.  At the closing ceremony on August 22, Ozzy will unleash a thunderous spectacle of rock to put the Lich King in his place and cement his own title as the one true Prince of Darkness.

In addition to serving as a gathering place for the different Blizzard Entertainment gaming communities, BlizzCon will offer an array of activities, including discussion panels, hands-on playtime with upcoming games, contests, tournaments showcasing the skills of top eSports gamers from around the world, and more. While tickets to the convention are currently sold out, the live Pay Per View event can still be ordered for $39.95 USD, and is available via DIRECTV and Internet stream (pricing and availability may vary by region). Visit www.blizzcon.com for more details and ordering information.

To keep pace with the continued growth of World of Warcraft as well as development on other Blizzard Entertainment games, the company is currently hiring for numerous open positions. Below is my official press statement on the official Black Sabbath trademark lawsuit. I am very saddened that I’ve had to take legal action against Tony. This is something that I’ve tried to avoid for years. I am not Geezer or Bill’s voice. However, till the day I die I will not change my mind on this issue. The Black Sabbath trademark should be equally owned by Geezer, Bill, Tony and I as the true Black Sabbath lineup is Tony, Geezer, Bill and I. We’ve all been mates since school. I’ve always said there is an invisible thread that holds us together. Tony, lets get this ridiculous issue sorted and move on with our lives. You’re 61, I’m 60. I hope that we’ve got a good 20 years left in us. But if not, God Forbid something happens to you. What’s going to happen to the Black Sabbath trademark? Who’s going to oversee it? Don’t you think after we’re long gone the rights should stay in your family, my family, Bill’s family and Geezer’s family?

Statement from OZZY OSBOURNE:

“It is with great regret that I had to resort to legal action against my long term partner, Tony Iommi, but after three years of trying to resolve this issue amicably, I feel I have no other recourse.  As of the mid-1990’s, after constant and numerous changes in band members, the brand of "Black Sabbath" was literally in the toilet and Tony Iommi (touring under the name Black Sabbath) was reduced to performing in clubs.  Since 1997 when Geezer, Bill and myself rejoined the band, Black Sabbath has returned to its former glory as we headlined sold-out arenas and amphitheatres playing to upwards of 50,000 people at each show around the world.  We worked collectively to restore credibility and bring dignity back to the name “Black Sabbath” which lead to the band being inducted into the UK and US Rock & Roll Hall of Fames in 2005 and 2006, respectively.  Throughout the last 12 years, it was my management representatives who oversaw the marketing and quality control of the “Black Sabbath” brand through OZZFEST, touring, merchandising and album reissues. The name "Black Sabbath" now has a worldwide prestige and merchandising value that it would not have had by continuing on the road it was on prior to the 1997 reunion tour.  Tony, I am so sorry it’s had to get to this point by me having to take this action against you.  I don’t have the right to speak for Geezer and Bill, but I feel that morally and ethically the trademark should be owned by the four of us equally.  I hope that by me taking this first step that it will ultimately end up that way.  We’ve all worked too hard and long in our careers to allow you to sell merchandise that features all our faces, old Black Sabbath album covers and band logos, and then you tell us that you own the copyright.  We’re all in our 60’s now. The Black Sabbath legacy should live on long after we have all gone.  Please do the right thing.”

WRECKAGE OF MY PAST is an intimate documentary that delves deep into the life of music icon Ozzy Osbourne. A sober Ozzy has reached a point of clarity as he looks back on a lifetime of unparalleled success, misdiagnosed disease, unrelenting fear and a recurring dependency on drugs and alcohol. This is a film about reconciling the past and looking toward the future.
