On November 2nd, 2008 Deftones' bass player and brother Chi Ling Cheng was involved in a horrific car accident which has left him in a semi-conscious state. In his journey to recovery, the Cheng family has accumulated an overwhelming amount of medical bills that insurance does not entirely cover. 

As a result, it is Deftones' mission to raise substantial funds to help ensure Chi's recovery. In addition to upcoming benefit shows, the Deftones have also launched an online auction to make available another opportunity for fans and friends worldwide to make a donation. All net proceeds will go to the Chi Ling Cheng Special Needs Trust that has been set up by the Cheng family to help pay for the growing medical costs required for Chi’s survival and recovery. 

Rise Against is offering two tickets with backstage passes to see the entire show and meet the band at the upcoming KROQ Halfway Acoustic Christmas. Check this and other auctions HERE. Our portion of the auction closes December 8!

As we wrap up our European run last night in Wales, we are already preparing for the next one across the Pacific. Rise Against will be playing our first show in Singapore on the way home from our Australian run. MUSE & SAOSIN will be joining us for the BIG NIGHT OUT on FEB 3rd. Tickets are available at www.bignightout.asia We are looking forward to bringing the show to yet another corner of the world we haven't been to yet!

Good news Sydney and Melbourne, we have added headlining shows in both of your cities betwixt our appearances on the now sold out Big Day Out Festival in January. The shows are going down at The Enmore in Sydney and the Hi Fi in Melbourne, tickets go on sale Nov 30th, we can't wait for the chance to play another show for our incredible Australian fans down under.

After finishing a brief European festival jaunt with our friends in AFI, we knew we all needed to get back on a stage together soon. So we're bringing the party to San Diego. As part of the 91X Christmas show we are playing San Diego on Dec 13th at the Viejas Arena with AFI and more, we can't wait to see our incredible Southern California fans. The lyrics on , "Grammatizator", were inspired by a Roald Dahl short story. It harkens back to not only our early days as a band, but the early days of punk. The days of ROIR cassettes, Bad Brains, and Black Flag found their way into our musical upbringing and years later poured into this song. We hope you enjoy hearing them half as much as we enjoyed creating them.

The B-Side, "Hero Of War" - live at H.O.B. Boston" has become one of the many benchmarks in our own time as a band, it has stirred the hearts of many. It was a story gasping for air and we gave it life on our most recent record, Appeal To Reason, before it took on a life of it's own in the last year and sparked dialogue throughout our fan base and beyond.
