When I recover from being sick, I will be reviewing an EP from Cleveland metal band Ceterum (Proportions).  According to the band's spokesman and drummer, Jason Broussard, the band is in the studio making their first full-length album.  In the mean time, you can check out the band's MySpace page in my Friend Space box.  I should have the review available before Christmas, so please hang in there a little while longer.

Also, another metal band with an upcoming release is Chicago-based Elysion Fields.  It is an EP, called Retribution, due out on 19 December.   Check out their website on MySpace for more details.  I plan on reviewing their music in the very near future as well, so check out my website as often as possible.

I thank all my readers for their patience.  Take care.

Happy Holidays, BGJR.

I usually don't get very personal, or sappy online, but today is a friend's birthday.  We grew up together in Cleveland.  We shared our formative years together.  We became close for a very good while.  After I graduated from school, we lost touch with each other, but I have always thought of her.

Let me put it this way.  She is the first female friend I have ever made in my whole life.  She is the only REAL female friend I ever had.  That is why I will never forget her for as long as I live.

Valri was the first woman ever to stick her neck out for me.  She is the sole reason why I survived middle school and junior high.   She was the only woman ever to understand the way that I think.  She understood the methods behind my madness.  And, for that, I thank her so much for her compassion.

Most recently, I found out through some sources that Valri moved out to Sunny California some time back.  If anyone or anybody might know her out there, please tell her that an old friend still thinks about her, and I'm glad that she moved out to greener pastures.

Forgive me for sounding cheesy, but if Valri is reading this, please contact me.  I miss hearing from you.  I really do miss your friendship.  My only regret is that I never went out with you at least one time when you lived in Cleveland.  I would have loved to at least take you to a coffeehouse and reflect on the good old days.

I just hope she is doing well, especially in these tough times.  I'm in the phone book, as well as the online directories.  I usually don't research myself online, but I am searchable.  My blogs do show up, along with my Amazon.Com profile.

Happy Birthday, My Good Friend.  I hope you have a very good one.  Be careful; don't party too hard.  I wish you many blessings, Valri.

I am looking to offer my services to local metal bands.  I have some friends in the media I can get a hold of.  I can also create press kits for your band.  Prices for the services are always negotiable.

You can reach me by personal e-mail at
griffinator01@worldnet.att.net at any time.  Put in the subject line "RE: MySpace Blog 02 Sept 2009."  I check my e-mail at least twice a week.

If you can, provide me a phone number whenever possible.  It helps out a lot.  I want to be able to reach someone to arrange interviews with the band.  I live just a stone's throw away from a shopping mall.  We can shoot the bull over lunch.

Hope to hear from anybody anytime soon.  Take care

Many Blessings, BGJR.

There are two pieces of diabetes legislation that are rotting on some senator's desk.  Senate bill 1343 (110th Congress) is the Diabetes Treatment & Prevention Act, authored and sponsored by former New York Senator Hillary Clinton, now current Secretary of State.  Senate bill 1494 (also, 110th Congress) would create special health programs for type 1 diabetes.  Since May of 2007, no one has done a single thing to get those bills back on the floor to get it voted and passed.

I put President Obama's MySpace page up for a reason.  Obama said he would do everything to improve health care in this country.  Well, saying something and doing something are two different things.  Let's demand him to do something for once.  I've had enough of talking.  If the President wants to impress me, I want to see him do something.  Getting these two bills passed into law would be a great start.

Go to his website and convince him to do something.  Don't get me wrong.  I do respect him; he is our President.  I would have more respect for him if he peeled away from the camera and backed up the words he said on camera.  That's the only beef I have with him.  He does too much talking.  Actions speak louder than words, Mr. President!

Please help me persuade him and Congress to do the right thing.  Your time and empathy is greatly appreciated.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Many Blessings, BGJR.

Set the enter search box to "bill number" and enter the bill number "S 1494" or "S 1343" and hit enter.  The website will send you straight to the legislation.  This link is the only one that works.

Kamelot, "The Haunting (Somewhere In Time)"
from the album THE BLACK HALO

This video includes Simone Simons, the female lead vocalist from Epica.  I have this song on my MP3 player, and I play it a lot.  This song is available on Amazon's MP3 downloads page.  Kamelot is also one of my MySpace friends.  If you love melodic heavy metal, I swear to you, you will enjoy these guys.  The lead singer has a great voice.  He is not a growler or a screamer.  He reminds me of Geoff Tate from Queensryche.  Check out this song and tell me what you think.  Take care.

Many Blessings, BGJR.

PS:  In case you haven't noticed lately, I added a music player to my profile.  Check out some of my other faves on MySpace music.

I updated a lot of information and added more sources.  Please, take the time to read it, check out all of the information, and sign it.  A lot of Ohio adoptees are counting on your online signature.  Whether you want to believe it or not, your actions do make a difference.

Thank you and take care.

Many Blessings, BGJR.

I most recently visited my opthalmologist for an eye exam.  I found out that I have a retinal tear in my left eye.  He has to operate on it as soon as possible.  Basically, it means I might be off the Internet for a good while, again, until my eye gets healed up.  I know that I have been for for a good while already for personal and health reasons.  This year has been really tough for me.  I'm hoping it gets better.

Thank you everybody for understanding my situation.  Take good care of yourselves.  I'll be back when I feel better.

Many Blessings, BGJR.

I am a huge Science Fiction and Fantasy fan.  Unfortunately, because I live in Cleveland, we barely get any conventions of this sort, EVER.   If I had a huge pay-off for an article, I would love to visit California, where they have huge Sci-Fi conventions.  If anybody who lives in the Midwest knows of any such conventions, please contact me.  I wouldn't mind taking a road trip to check them out.

By the way, I'm a big fan of Boris Vallejo's artwork, so here is a few good links to his beautiful works:
-- http://www.imaginistix.com/  Boris Vallejo's official site
-- http://www.doriansportraits.com/index.html  His son's website

These pages are from Vallejo's Wikipedia page:

It should be noted horror writer Clive Barker also does fantasy drawings.  I've seen some of his art online.  http://www.bgfa.us/artists/barker/index.html  This link is an art gallery in LA that features some of his work.  CHECK IT OUT!!

By the way, I am still keeping an eye on the Ohio legislators.  I haven't forgotten about them.  I'm watching you guys like a hawk.  I am also leaving that petition online and constantly updating it.  So far, as of today, there are 78 online signatures.   Please, spread the word and get more online signatures.  There is also a link on my page that has a national petition to open all adoption records.  Check it out when you get a chance.

Take care, everybody!  Thank you for reading my blog.
