Hey MySpacers !!!
I am a total pack rat. I don't throw away anything. I'm like one of the people on the TV show 'Hoarders'. I am trying to clean my house. My favorite thing to shop for is clothes, and since I never throw anything away. I have A LOT. I have a few closets full. I went through one closet, and I bagged up 14 hefty bags full of clothes. All clean nice clothes. I called a charity to come pick them up, and they said they either need to be on hangers or nicely folded in boxes for them to take them.
So I'm saying this...I have 14 hefty bags full of clean clothes (and I still have two more closets to go through, so there will be more in the near future). If you are with a charity or women's shelter in the area of Louisville, KY, you can pick this up or I will have it dropped off. Please contact me through MySpace.
And while I have you, I want to comment on the Kim Couture v Kerry Vera fight. I thought it was a very exciting fight. I was super impressed with the skill level of Kerry Vera. And although Kim Couture lost, she stood in there and battled like a true warrior. Great fight. Great for women's MMA.
Later Double Baked Potaters, Lisa Marie aka Tara : )
Update: The clothes went to the center for Women and Familes in Louisville. I had the Black Widow Customs van drop it off. They were happy to have it, and now I have a clean closet. Everyone wins : )

Hey MySpacers !!! I included a youtube link to last Sunday's TNA pay-per-view match, Tara vs Kong in a steel cage. It was one of my favorite matches of all time. I have to thank Kong, because as much as I wanted to beat her, without her extraordinary effort, we could have never done this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSvzdEICdgcSomeone in the industry said to me after the match, "Omigosh! That was a Victoria vs Trish match!". And I replied,"No. That was a Tara vs Kong match". I hope you enjoy... Lisa Marie aka TNA Tara : ) Update: Uh oh. TNA removed the video. I think that because it was a pay-per-view, there was a copyright issue. I'm sure you'll see the highlights on TNA Impact Thursday Night on SpikeTV. They ought to show it, after all, it was one of my best matches ever !!! : )

Hey MySpacers !!! Tomorrow I am getting inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in Rialto, CA (that is my home town). The ceremony is open to the public, so if you are in the neighborhood, it is on Saturday, Nov 14th at 10 am in the Carl Johnson Center Gymnasium, 214 N. Palm Avenue, Rialto, CA 92376. I figure that wrestling got me here, so I should definitely invite the wrestling fans. Hope to see you there. I still haven't finalized my trip to Kansas City for the following weekend. I'm 99% that I'm going to watch the Strikeforce event. I am really looking forward to that, and I hope that I can make that happen. I have been rediculously busy lately. I haven't finalized my Thanksgiving plans either. What about you guys? What are you doing for Thanksgiving? The reason that I haven't finalized the next two weekends, is because I have had one focus...training for this Sundays TNA pay-per-view:Turning Point. Tara and Kong. In a cage! This match is the reason I came to TNA. When I think about where my career was a year ago, and I think about this opportunity, I am so greatful. I am committed to laying everything on the line. I am thankful to TNA management. I am thankful to the TNA fans. And I am even thankful to the warrior that is Kong. Because she knows the same thing I do. One of us will be victorious. And one of us will be carried out. Later Taters, Lisa Marie aka Tara : ) link to sports hall of fame - http://www.ci.rialto.ca.us/gov_3892.php

Hey MySpacers ! I think we all strive to make make smart decisions all the time. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. In the recent TNA pay-per-view event, my behavior in my interaction with Kim Couture left something to be desired. I strive to be both a World Champion, and a role model to young people, and I didn't act like either. That's the great thing about life. If we're smart, we learn from our mistakes, and we make ourselves better. I have only the utmost respect for Kim as a fighter. I wish both her and Kerry Vera luck in their Nov.20th Strikeforce fight. I expect an exciting fight, and I am looking forward to being in attendance and witnessing an awesome event. As for my future, I have been in contact with Strikeforce, and look to build a relationship with them as a top tier female fighter. As for TNA, I would most importantly like to apologize to both Kong and ODB, two of the world's best female wrestlers, for being a distraction to their match. And in the future, I will make amends by kicking butt and entertaining the fans in a way that is uniquely Tara. I expect TNA to show footage of the spectacle on this Thursday's Impact. After that, we can put that ugliness behind us, and move in a positive direction. Hey MySpacers!
What's have you all been up to? I've been so busy. I've been having a blast at TNA. Also, I have been very dedicated to my MMA training. There is an article on AOL's Fanhouse about me in MMA that posted today. The link is:
http://mma.fanhouse.com/2009/09/25/lisa-marie-varon-former-wwe-diva-ready-to-become-next-brock-l/#cont
If you get a chance, I would appreciate positive support on their site where you can post responses to the article. There are a few "women shouldn't fight" comments. Which is quite a coincidence. Because I was either going to train for MMA, or stay home and bake muffins...NOT!
I had hoped to be in Oklahoma for the Strikeforce event this weekend, but I'll be filming some TNA commercials in Nashville. They also just announced a fight in Chicago on Nov 7th with Fedor, which I would LOVE to go to, but I will be in Tupelo, MS. making a rare non-televised TNA wrestling appearance.
I did just email Scott Coker, who runs Strikeforce. I'm ready to go! I know he's got a busy weekend with his show this weekend, but I think it's time for me to put up or shut up.
What do you think? Lisa Marie Varon in the cage, or a nice muffin basket?

Hey MySpacers !!!
So I heard my name mentioned a couple times recently in MMA circles. The first was because I have been talking to a couple agents regarding MMA endorsements. Well in a conversation, I mentioned to one that a promoter had approached my camp about fighting Kim Couture (as I mentioned in my July 2nd blog). The numbers weren't right for the fight, but appearantly the agent wanted to see if there was interest in me in the MMA community. So without my knowledge, he gave an interview to the Dayton Daily News, suggesting that he represtented me and that I am gunning for Kim Couture. Neither were true. So to the Dayton Daily News, I say,"Check your facts!".
As well as an athlete and entertainer, I am a business owner, and have been for years. For the time being, I can represent myself. I believe boxing great Bernard Hopkins represented himself through his whole career. I know that in the infancy of my MMA career, I can adequately represent myself. If you want to know about my fight status, talk to myself or one of my coaches.
Then it seems that Kim Couture gets stirred up and says to MMAJunkie.com that she has no idea who I am, and that I look big, and she doesn't know if I can get to the 135 lb weight class. Kim, I do walk around in the low 150's. But as a former bodybuilder and fitness competitor, I know how to cut weight as good or better than most fighters. I cut to 119 for one show. I know I can get to 135. But frankly, you don't want me to. I know pro wrestling is nothing like MMA. But anyone who has watched my career has some insight into what my fighting potential is. I broke the jaw of powerhouse Beth Pheonix in three places with a slap (which I sincerely regret to this day). I tugged 270 lb Awesome Kong out of the ring with one arm the other day on TNA. I dropped 15 feet to the cement floor head first last week and got up to finish the match. I have always had freakish physical ability.
And for my MMA skills, they get better every day. I train as hard as anyone in the business. I spar with Terri Blair, who is currently a Female Boxing champion in two organizations. I roll with Helio Soneca who is world renowned as a jiu-jitsu coach. And I train with former UFC and Pride fighter Alex Steibling. I am ready for a fight today.
So Kim, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the heart you showed in your first pro fight. Tremendous. And you may be a nice stepping stone for me if I choose to drop down to 135. But as for the veiled insults toward me, I find them cute. Because for us to meet up in the ring, you'd be bringing a knife to a gun fight. I hope to be attending the Strikeforce event in Oklahoma next month. Perhaps I'll see you there.

Hey MySpacers !
Long time, no blog. So I forgot about this until I saw it, which is kinda funny and kinda concerning. But I banged the holy heck out of my head on last night's TNA Impact. There is definitely a little adjustment as I get into the more hardcore style of wrestling on TNA. Well TNA veteran ODB went to the top rope and jumped onto Kong. It pumped me up so much that I went to the top rope and tried to jump onto the Beautiful People who were outside the ring. Well they are so caked up with makeup and fake tan and herpes creme that I shot right through them, and banged my head on the concrete floor. Next thing I know, referee Earl Hebner was standing over me, asking, "Should I stop this and get the medics?". I told him that I thought I was okay, but it hurt!!! But the important thing is that I came to my senses, got back in the ring, and pinned Kong. And the the fans were chanting "That was awesome"...which was a tremendous feeling. It was an honor to be part of and amazing hardcore match where some of the best female wrestlers worked to their potential and thrilled the fans. I know they rerun Impact during the week. If you didn't see it last Thursday night, it's worth catching.
Saturday Night two of the best female fighters in the world will be facing off in the Stikeforce PPV on Showtime. I don't have Showtime. I'm not home enough to watch it. But I think I may actually get Showtime just for this fight. It's gonna be a major event in Women's MMA. Gina Carano and Christiane Santos aka Chris Cyborg. Cheesecorn and Women's MMA...now that's a Saturday Night.

Hey MySpacers!
Let me start off by saying that I learned a valuable lesson. I responded to a rumor, and what I learned was, the people whose opinion I truly value, my family, my friends, the folks who follow my wrestling career, and my MySpace friends, they know me well enough to know who I am. So I didn't need to respond. But I sure do appreciate all your support.
On to a happier subject. Tonight on TNA Impact on SpikeTV, I will be tagging up with the Awesome Kong. I am so excited for us as a tag team. Me vs Kong is one of those dream matches. I think she could bring out the best fighter from the New and Improved Tara. And as big and mean as she looks on TV, she looks even bigger and meaner in person. It is an honor to work along side of her, and we will give the "Beautiful People" the treatment that they deserve. And yes, I do have an extra special trick up my sleeve.
I'm going to make this short. I am between MMA training sessions. I will talk more about it once I decide either way, but a fight promoter came to my coach with an amazing fight opportunity. It is against a name those who follow women's MMA would know. It is a great opportunity, and would be two months away, and frankly, we are discussing whether I can be ready for a fighter at that level this soon. I'll keep you guys in the loop.

I try not to respond to rumors. It’s a lose-lose situation.
If you don’t respond, it seems like you may be avoiding the rumor because it is
true. If you deny it, you are bringing more attention to a lie. Well, in this
case I’m gonna respond. A MySpace friend emailed me yesterday to let me know
that a wrestling gossip website is claiming that they have an anonymous source
or sources that say I was Chris Benoit’s secret mistress at the time of his
murder-suicide. First let me say, this is absolutely false. I invite the
“reporter” from that website to come to my home city, and I will submit myself
to a polygraph. If this website is at all concerned with the truth, they should
jump at the opportunity. But frankly, I think they are just concerned about
sensational headlines, and couldn’t care less about the facts behind it.
And the timing sure is conspicuous.Years after the event,
but hours before my TNA wrestling debut. Could it be that a certain wrestling
organization is concerned about what kind of impact that I will make in TNA?
And what kind of coward would make such a powerful claim, and hide in the
shadows of anonymity. Come forward. Legitimize your claim.
I have made every effort to move on and take the high road.
The worst thing that I have said is that I wanted a different role. Believe me,
in nine years with that organization, I have been aware of behavior so deviant
that it would shock the devil himself. But as the old saying goes, the only
thing certain about a mudslinging contest is that everyone gets dirty.
And finally, let me say this. To spread a lie like this
hurts the survivors of a tragedy that already have gone through immeasurable
suffering. Although it doesn’t excuse his behavior, studies on Chris Benoit’s
brain after his death showed severe damage from years of wrestling-related
injuries. That, mixed with mood and hormone altering drugs led to a horrible
outcome. Before that, as we all have heard, he was very dedicated to his
family. Don’t drag these victims and their families through vicious lies for
the sake of attempting to take the wind out of my sails.
Again, I think the website that first posted this should
feel obligated to come out here and polygraph me. Stand by your story.
But in the end, all you’ve done is hurt some innocent people
with lies, and frankly, pissed me off, and motivated me to make TNA as good a product as I can.
