Thank you to everyone who supported me during the time of my unjust arrest last year. I told everyone I would fight back and I did. Clearly there were several untrue stories about what happened that night, and I was determined to have the truth come out, and it did. Below is the official press release.

SINGER KELIS ACQUITTED OF ALL CHARGES BROUGHT BY MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT

(September 11, 2008) Today in a Miami Court room, Judge Arzola granted a judgement of acquittal, finding Kelis Rogers-Jones innocent of all charges brought against her by the Miami Beach Police Department in March 2007. Evidence admitted at the trial firmly established that Kelis did not interfere with any police investigation at the time and that she did not engage in any disorderly conduct. There was no basis to arrest her and she was also found innocent of any charges brought against her for resisting arrest.

"We feel vindicated that the court recognized that Kelis did nothing wrong," says defense attorney Ira N. Loewy. "Her protest over the illegal and unjustified harassment of her husband and friends was protected by her constitutional civil right to speech. She plans to bring a civil suit against the Miami Beach Police for this violation of her civil rights and unlawful arrest."

"I'm am thrilled that justice prevailed in the end," says Kelis. "Racial profiling is a very serious matter. Unfortunately, most victims learn to deal with this form of harassment in their daily lives because they feel that they don't have a voice or because they're not able to absorb the costs to legally fight it in court. I hope that this sheds light on the fact that wearing a uniform and carrying a badge does not allow you to act above the law."

Hope everyone had a fabulous christmas. My mom me and my sister went to switzerland for a few days where I was brutally reminded what a terrible skier I am. We had a ball though, it was beautiful. Did some shopping had a great time. When we got back all my christmas spirit was spent up so when the day actually came we played it really low. Didn't do much, jus relaxed and watched some movies. The new year is coming and so much has been on my mind so I'm jus getting ready to go on vacation get a killer tan and come back in january refreshed and revin to go. God bless all chat with u soon.

Hey all, so I am tired, starving and considerably cranky. I just landed in valencia spain. They need to have people just passing out little bowls of paella when you land, ooh and sangria my favorite. I'm here hosting a party 2night. Its not as warm as I thought it would be but the town as I drive in has a lot of character. I might spend a few extra days out here in  marvlle cause you know a girl can always use a little quality beach time.
